New member: Partner in the Navy, getting married next year.
Hi,
Im just introducing myself. My partner is in the Navy and I am a civillian orthopaedic trauma nurse. We have just moved into our first home together and then he got posted 3 weeks after we moved in. Im not really sure where he is to be quite honest. We are getting married next June so Im here making invites all on my lonesome almost a month after OH left for his 4 month tour.
I found today particularly hard and thought it might be a good idea to talk to some people in the same boat as me, so here I am.
Looking forward to talk with you all and making some new friends.
Lots of Love

Hi and welcome,
My OH is RN, he was on a 7 month deployment last year and there are days when you feel *bleh* about it, so sit down, have a drink and indulge in some treats for yourself, tomorrow is always a new day and I'd guess you feel that way as you've paid too little attention to yourself - long hot bath, go for a walk, step away from the invites which just makes you think of him.
I'd recommend taking out his/your name from your post, I know it's a little thing, but between that and your user name, someone may be able to track down who he is/you are and first rule of the internet, protect yourself
Remember to think of it as 25% of the way through, sounds so much better that way!
Mines a butterball shot please (to give it it's polite name!) when the bar opens.Nothing to see here, move on by....

Hi and welcome
My OH is RN as well - he's away at the moment.
I'm going to be good and order a big black coffee from the bar today."You don't think there's anything amiss? I'm sitting here wearing a red and white checked gingham dress and army boots and you think that's un-amiss?"

Hello! Did someone open the bar?

I'm a RN wife and hubby is coming to the end of his service, so been there, done that.
Be very careful about PERSEC and OPSEC on here - no names, no ship movements, etc.

Hello and welcome,
My OH is Army not RN but he is away at the moment too, I am sure you will find RP a good place for a giggle on the horrible days (on the good days too).

Hi, and welcome. Congratulations on the new home! Sounds like you have the division of labour right; he'll be so happy when he comes back to find you've planned all the boring bits. Never underestimate the ability of men to make themselves scarce when there's work to be done!
And chin up :-) You have to feel the bad days to really enjoy the good ones. And you've found the right place - RP's good for a smile or two.
A good strong G&T for me please.

Wowzers,
thanks for all the lovely messages guys! Ill have a bottle of wine please (red preferably but im not really that picky!). You're you're all right, Today is a much better day and fortunately, Ive been with OH 4 years now and he's been in the navy for all of that time so Im out of the "does he love me? he's not emailed for 4 days, i think he hates me" pathetic stage, which thank god only lasted a short time when he was away right at the beginning of our relationship. He did 7 month tour year before last and that was hard. Everything always seems much worse than it ever is at the time doesnt it? and you look back and wonder what all the fuss was about. Well...I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better over the next few months whilst OH is away
lots of love

I'm a bit late - but welcome!!
Large glass of NZ Sauvignon blanc for me (I'm kind of kidding myself that if I only drink 'quality wine' I will drink less...pfft!)
Welcome to the RP Family - we are for the most either a) drunkards , b) certifiable or c) both!! xxxxI can stop counting from today as we finally get to be together!!
