Newbie Number ...... One Million?!
Hi there all,
As the title suggests I am probably about the Millionth newbie to get here recently (and sure there will be more afterwards too!) but want to poke my head in and say HI!
I am Mrs. A, very nearly 27, have an almost 6 year old (lives with her Dad) and married to my fabulous 21 year old Army Man In Training, Mr. A. He left yesterday for Catterick and needless to say, I am going mental already! Haha.
It's the not knowing exactly what's going on coupled with us having been married for 2 weeks today and quite a few other little bits, which are all quite detailed. Currently sat at work so cannot really go into it.
Erm.... I am so sure there were a lot of other things I was going to say, but they seem to have poofed from my brain so I will leave it at that for now.
*insert lots of overly enthusiastic / slightly awkward waving, smiling and thumbs up here*

Hello! After a day playing sailors I'm up for a lovely glass of something cold and white-wine-like.
PS: moderator hat on - probably best leaving first names out of your posts egieoh. We're a public site and it can be a small world!"Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws."

Hi and welcome.... anything alcoholic for me please, need it to calm the nerves on the ever growing list of jobs on the house we've brought... just trying to get through the cleaning still at the moment!
Still, I'm in work this week, OH is doing all the work (poor chap - good old summer leave!) so not too bad for me!
Lots of good advice and quite a few that have just got through the training phase with their OH's so lots of info about..Nothing to see here, move on by....

Hi and welcome to RP. I'm only on my second cup of coffee today (sorry, nothing alcoholic - rather climbed into the vino last night, though), and I'm currently in work-avoidance-mode with a houseful of tasks I'd rather forget about.I'll just call this, 'Planning my day', because everyone knows that planning is the most important part of any job, right?
You'll find lots of advice on here, both for training phase and beyond, so do keep coming back - I look forward to seeing more of your posts in future!

*opens bar, with 2 rounds for all*
Thanks for the warm welcome. A madhouse with a bar...certainly seems like a place I'll fit in!!
Thankfully managed to talk to Mr. A (duly noted about names) last night and he was bit upset that he didn't get time to call or even text on 1st night. He is such a soppy one. But he's doing ok and even found another southerner...just the one so far, mind!! lol.
Hahaha, trying to do anything with a 3 yr olds 'help' is a bit of a mission let alone furniture building. Hope it got done in the end squirrel_pigeon. Bucket of wine and a packet of headache tablets winging their way to you!!
Aww your poor OH, FiestyOne. Still our men are surely used to lots of work so you're just keeping him on top form.... Well that would be my excuse. Heehee.
One cuppa coming up Heli. Its not old and boring at all. A good cuppa can be better than a stiff drink sometimes. Especially a really milky / sugary one to cure a hangover
Coffee it is draegora!
lol, yes planning very very important. I suggest doing it for at least 4 hours, just to be sure *nod nod*
Hmmm, well I should get back to work. Maybe the internet will work now so I can actually do something. Shouldn't complain really I suppose...
Only here til 2 ish today though so will definitely pop back in later and check out all the good advice about the place - and grab another much needed drink, I'm sure!

Welcome to RP.
I suggest a nosey around, if you haven't already done so, using the search engine and always feel free to ask questions.
When the bar opens can you stand me a VERY large whisky please. Going to need it once my storage is delivered!Carpe Diem

Half 8 on a Monday morning.... yeah I think that is a suitable enough time for the bar to open. Whole bottle of Whisky open and ready for when that storage arrives

Thanks pj and Gonzo. Ive been browsing around all week. Even managed to use the search function to my advantage a few times. It has helped me relax a lot more I think. Cannot believe hubby been gone a week already. Be time to see him again soon
He is already sounding so much better and the cheeky little sod is getting a bit too confident now - going to have to remind him of who's boss when he comes home!
haha
I was apparently on speaker the other night and everyone was saying "hello sweetheart" to me. I think mainly just to take the mick out of him, but they did also all say sweet dreams, which was nice. Can't wait to meet them all. I will be giving them more little insights to the hubby and how to wind him up (more). I think he has probably already banned me from talking to any of them, or them to me. Spoil sport...
Time to get ready for work sadly. Enjoy your Monday all. Or at least drink it away tonight

Ha ha ha, won't be long before he brings them all unexpectedly starving hungry and you'll be in a mad rush cooking for 20 instead of just the 2 of you!

Hahaha, I dont mind that. I've already said that where ever we eventually end up I will be the one inviting everyone round. I love cooking a nice roast and it always feels like a waste doing it for just 2 people. They have the do the washing up though!
He has also banned me from playing strip poker with them. Can't for the life of me imagine why...
