didn't think i'd be here again!

    Hi guys..

I'm new (well, sort of!).. My OH and I met when he was in the Royal Marines..fantastically rubbish start to any relationship!! He left about 18 months ago for lots of reasons..

Anyway, just when I was starting to see white picket fences he's decided to go back and join the army - this time he wants to do something more specialised - he's looking at the signals. He has a commission at Sandhurst..and I have a massive mood on!!

Kidding..I know it'll make him happy but I have to say, the military wife thing was never something I found easy (well- I say wife, we;re actually getting married in 10 days time so not quite yet!!).

I found it pretty isolating when he was in the RM as my career is in London and I wasn't/am still not ready to sacrifice it..

So, I thought this time I'd seek out fellow sufferers and joined this site and find some solace!

    So hey to you all!

You know, it isn't all that bad! It can be quite fun and you do get to meet lots of interesting people. The downsides are clear and I don't need to remind you, but you have chosen the package and these boys aren't happy if they don't have military fabric holding them together!

I was also loving a pretty cool life in London and then wed myself an infanteer. It's different but he's great and I made the choice to marry him so I have got to make the best of it - and for me, the bottle is half full, not half empty! A bit different for you if the goalposts have moved though - but if you consider that you aren't married yet and it isn't too late to get out of it, what decision will you make and which path will you follow? I'll bet life with picket fences without him is bleak compared to life in an army quarter with him.

Good luck with the wedding - all in white, big frock, big party? Have a wonderful day.

Hiya..thanks for the reply..You're right of course! I couldn't be without him..

I think am just scared as it was a bit of an alien world the first time PLUS, I didn't live with him that time..this time we'll be married so will live in quarters and think its just making me nervous!

I have no idea why!! I thinks its cos when he was in RM I always felt a bit out of the loop with the other WAGS as I wasn't there much. They seemed really nice but just distant..plus the whole military speak/abbreviations thing is like a foreign language to me!

I even felt REALLY nervous posting on this site! Am not normally such a muppet!!

    welcome!!!!

I'm hopeless with military terminology too and always have to ask but you can always find someone to answer a query on here!!!

Have a fabulous wedding day and enjoy every minute of it, even the annoying mother-in-law
I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once
