Just joined, but I'm guessing you already guessed that huh? :wink:

My boyfriend is in the process of joining up, he should be starting basic in january. (I know alot of you are probably thinking "woah it's a bit early" I guess it is :/) But to be honest I'm terrified. I don't have any idea what it's going to be like or anything.

He keeps saying he feels bad for worrying me and hurting me, but I'm perfectly willing to put up with whatever is thrown at me as long as he's happy :/ I just can't handle the thought of losing him.

I have acquired some Lambrini sparkling perry (long story) so I'll mostly be drinking that this evening if you fancy some

What’s it going to be like well there's a question with a 1000 answer I'm afraid,
he will change during it, that’s a certain, it’s a hard course to do,

expect him to become a bit more ladish,and independent,
but there will be times where he will want to quit and give it all up, trust me every one has this feeling,
and your job is just to listen and be his shoulder to cry on,

I did my basic ages ago (01) now and have since left (07) and joined the stabs (TA so be gentle) I've done 1 tour and about to do another soon, hence why I’m on RP getting some girls point of view on keeping in touch whilst I am away, feel free to add any suggestions on it
But any questions I'll be happy todo my best,

But in short it really depends on him, how he copes with the massive change, how well he does and his troop during training, I had a really good troop so it was nice and easy in comparison to my mates troop who I swear had the special needs class with him poor bastard lol

Yea, I know he's going to change, a lot of my friends joined the Army so I know it makes an impact. :/
He made his choice today, he's chosen Welsh Guards. The bad news: they deploy like everyone else

Hi there - mine went 'in' long before I met him so I can't really tell you what it's like when they're going through training, but you've absolutely done the right think in joining us lot. After 2 hours on this site last night, I went from bawling my eyes out due to OH leaving around 12 hours previously to absolutely wetting myself laughing. And that (as I said last night on 'chat') was unexpected and lovely.

Hi Smeeth, apologies for the edit to your post but we ask members not to post reg specific dates on here as it is an open forum and, not all the regt will be aware of the deployment rotation much less if it will be their battalion due to deploy -esp with the Guards Regts.
