Hello everyone,
just looking at the Army Rumour Service site and stumbled upon you all.... what an excellent bunch you are! Such a good helping hand for struggling women and good fun too![]()
Im sortof a newby because were not quite there yet...
My husband is in the long process of Sandhurst application, he has been to briefing and got a cat 1 and were now counting the weeks to main board- he's booked in the 2nd week in September.
Tried not to think about it as time seems to go slower, but just cant help it. There is so much that will change if he gets in, and because its so energy consuming its so hard to keep him channelled on getting in without getting too hung up on the "If he gets in" scenario and what this will mean for our lives from that point on. If he doesnt get in, its been a massive learning curve but its back to the drawing board and no idea what to do instead.
We try to think of it that if he doesnt get in, then he isnt right for the army and to be honest ill be pleased slightly whatever the outcome.
However if he gets in its big changes for both of us and although I know he'll be away alot and certainly for the year at Sandhurst, it would finally be the catalist to allow us to move on in life. Im desparately broody and although not ideal for a child with the moving and having their daddy away lots, the army lifestyle would allow me to be a mum and to be at home with the children whilst also moving and getting to meet new people along the way. So overall there is many good and bad factors an army wifey has to deal with it seems, just got to be patient and see what happens 1st.
Really I wanted to say hello to you all, any advice with the application process you have, or with starting out as an army wife id be very appreciative.
Thanks xx
