Thread: Welcome to Me - How egotistical!

Morning RPers - and I bid you all a Happy Friday on this Spring day.

Thought it would be best if I introduced myself as I've already got an "ask" of you. So I'm saying Welcome to Myself. Odd.

I'm a 3rd holder of the keys to the wine storage facility - which I know is so close to your hearts - and general admin type back-up to the Gods. I thought I'd be an "Admin Angel" but that's just a bit "fluffy" hence deciding to be the devil on their shoulder - albeit cute when not enraged.

So, to start off, I was wondering... How many of you lovely lot use Twitter?

And how many of you not-so-lovely :twisted: lot use Twitter?

There will be a Rear Party Twitter page coming incredibly soon to Twitterland (fancy links will follow when Good CO feels the sharp end of my cute-but-useful prong) but being the nosy type that I am, wondered if any of you were users/followers? Don't want your real names or anything, just a simple hands-up would be brilliant.

I feel I should point out I am an old git though, and often struggle with MSN and attaching files to emails!

I did, now I don't - found that when I googled myself it showed in the search listings with my twitter id and the 'real name' I'd used to set it up despite having checked all the privacy options. 8O

There is a way around the privacy options - you don't have to use a real name to register with Twitter.

I'm rather glad of that - could you imagine the nut-jobs that would be stalking Rear Party / Arrse / Rum Ration and the COs and myself if we had to put real names in? 8O I'd have to live under my desk !

I did and still wasn't happy for what I had used to be so easily accessible though!

I'm pretty sure in a little while you will be living under a desk - probably helping PR totty with the vino.....while prodding the CO's to make them work faster!

Anyhoo was completely off topic, so nope not a twitterer, but I do know that some of the lovely ladys on here are (although with varying levels of confusion).

Yup I have a twitter, don't use it often though. Not like facebook. Is there an RP facebook page?

Twitter confuses me and I don't need any help in that department unfortunately. I do have an account but not sure what purpose it serves. A bit like being married really!

Ooooh old git here! Twitter is that like when beta max went to dvds?????? Oooh really did show my age there didnt I. Can cope with FB may splash out on the IT knowledge and try Twitter but not sure? Oh I forgot to say hi. Hi! x

I have to say Twitter totally escapes me; I haven't got the first clue about it! I do use Face/Stalker/Vague Book; it's great cos I'm overseas and so it's much easier to keep in touch with people but I have in the past thought that it is definitely the work of the devil!

Another little face-acher here, although i can't help u out with farm goods or fishtanks H_P i can supply some pretty mean weaponry for my mafia :twisted: hehehe

I'm a Facebooker (although I don't do Farm-thingy, or Fish-thingy or Mafia-thingy...) I also Twitter every now and then, although I must confess I really don't see the point of it...

I use Twitter - find it more reliable for having on-line conversations with my friends than Facebook's naff chat.

It's quite interesting using it to follow people and just generally be nosy - found some cracking links on it -but it took a while to get used to... 8O Generally cos I'm a bit stupid, innit?

Don't use Twitter or Facebook - good old fashioned emails, (letters even - God I must be old) and dare I say it the telephone to those I know!!!!!

Why oh why do people use Twitter....??

You'd have to have the back up of a Battalion to get the cellar keys off me, especially on a Monday morning...

Interesting to see that people don't use Twitter...so a Facebook page then. Only problem I see with Facebook is lack of PerSec.

A closed group would be ok, I would imagine. There is one (actually, there are 2 unofficial) Arrse pages on Facebook and the lack of PerSec..hang on, I feel a poll coming on!

I tweet: thesauce237 - tweet me! Although I agree that for it to be effective as a digital social networking device you need to give up your life to tweet frequently.

I would advise the following:

- twitter
- facebook fan page (because the feeds show in the news feed and it easier to get members just click become a fan)
- my space
- linked in


Then download - Tweetdeck

This then integrates your status and updates on all 4 in one click.

I could recommend an Rear Party HQ blog too - via wordpress but I think that may be too time consuming at this juncture.
