    Newbie

    Hi all

I have just joined to get a feel for the site. My husband after 6 years of being out of the Navy has decided to re-join to provide us and *hopefully* our future children with a better life.

I only met him 3 years ago so I have never not been around him.

He has submitted all his forms today, and been told that it will take about 4 weeks to get them back. He has also been told that if there is a vacancy he could (if accepted) be back in in as little as 6 months.

All very scary and a lot of changes at the moment.

Kitty, you'll be fine. There are a few of us RN missus on here.

I don't think we ever get the hang of the lads being away, I know I certainly don't, but it gets easier to handle.

And if he ends up on a ship, then you'll have three "people" in your relationship - you, him and the ship! My OH's is most definitely our mistress! And a flipping demanding one at that.

    Chin up, you'll be right

    Hi Kitty,
My husband has been in the Navy since May. We hadn't been apart before either and i thought i wouldn't be able to cope.
It hasen't been that bad as I just keep busy, focus on the next time i will see him and it gets me through it.
Whats your husband going in as?

    Hi Kitty and welcome,
My husband starts basic training next month and we haven't been apart either, the people on here are really supportive, Im sure you will cope better than you think, Im finding it difficult waiting for him to go but its going really quick and that made me realise how fast time does go when you're busy.

    Welcome Kitty,

I'm an Army wife so cannot comment on the RN, but will say as long as you pull up a chair, bring a bottle of yur favourite tipple an a mocktail or two you will be alright. Just remember, don't feed the bazzer after midnight!

    Re: Newbie

Thank you ladies for your very warm welcome, I definitely feel that I could get settled on here.

WhiteRose - although i he hasn't been in for a while, the navy has always played a big part of his, now our, life.

Ju - I know I should know this I'm not 100% sure what the actuak branch is, I think it is warfare as he used to shoot big guns!

We hoped for him to get a more often shore based position but he would have to go through the joining process again.

At this stage we hope he gets in, but naturally there is that small doubt, especially due to the forces being a popular career choice during this tough recession.

Does it get easier as you get older do you find?

    Hi all

Sorry it has been a while. Well it seems I'm going to be here for a little while.

The hubby passed all the rejoining hurdles and starts back with the Navy on Wednesday!!

To also put the spanner in the works slightly I'm 14 weeks pregnant with our first child! At least I'm going to be kept busy lol.
