    Hello....yes another newbie

    Hi all,

I've been lurking around ARRSE and just found this forum this evening and cant get enough!
Thought I'd register and say hi before I become a full blown lurker.
I've been with my boyfriend just over a year, and we are currently living together. He has just started the application process for the army (infantry) and is completely useless at helping my understand what to expect, and I like to know these things! So this forum is just brilliant for me
I do have a couple of random questions. We do plan on getting married but obv it wouldnt be possible during his training (nevermind the fact there is no ring yet I was wondering if anyone had any idea how soon after training this would be possible? Also can anyone point me to more info on military weddings?

Many thanks and hi to all

When you say "info on military weddings", do you mean about something specific, like Guards of Honour, or just very generally? Much of what applies to weddings in general applies when you marry someone in the Forces, really; there are a few particular aspects, though, e.g. the serving partner perhaps having to write to his/her CO for permission to marry and the question of the wearing of uniform etc.

Hello and welcome, the only thing military in our wedding is that my husband and his best man wore their number 1's, what specific information are you looking for??

My OH, who I am marrying in 3 weeks and 2 days (not that I am counting now) is Infantry. He had to ask permission to marry (no letter required) and also had to ask if he could wear his Number 1's. The answer was yes to both. I don't know about getting wed in the first year of training as my OH and I met after he had served 13 years in the Army.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

    Oh, and welcome to RP
