    Arthur3Bums From ARRSE says hello!!

Hi to you all in the invaluable rear party both female and, naturally in today's climate of equality, male.

I can see from some familiar names on the ARRSE site, that some of you may have already heard of me.
I thought, with your kind permissions, that I might take the opportunity to pop in here and draw your attention to:
Firstly....in case you didn't know..........christmas is coming ...and I'm already fat so the damned goose will have to get fat again, then
Secondly.........I am an Ex Tankie (if anyone can ever be an 'Ex' Tankie) who supplies artwork to demand. IE: If someone wants a picture drawing of a beloved subject including portraits of themselves and pets or whatever they want as a gift.............then I can do that for them. I can also provide prints of Artwork and even mugs and TShirts.
My prices are geared for service people so all prices quoted to my clientelle, I am told, are very reasonable as they're discounted to what people can relatively easily afford. Best thing is, have a look at my website listed below. If you have a query or just want to chat please feel free to contact me through either this forum or my website which also has all my contact details.
Thankyou very much for your time and.......................keep up, keeping up, your 'other halves' who need you very much, as I know from when I served.
    ADDENDUM
Having seen a couple notes on other threads about 'touting for business' I would like to explain a little more.
It's obvious that this is a tout for business albeit as an 'Old lag' I'd welcome the opportunity to chat about the problems of seperation etc etc.
However, I am pretty honourable as I deal with unit shops/PRI's and give them favourable discounts, why?? Well it increases profits into the CO's fund, I know how valuable CO's funds are that come, in part, from PRI sales, most of the fund however, goes to improve, in some way the lot of the people that matter most...........the serving guys and gals and, sometimes even the families. As I said, most serving people come to me as my prices are reasonable for one off commissioned special pieces whether it be someone's prized pooch or their husband in front of his favourite tank (I don't however deal in porn - glamorous portraits yes......porn no way hose' so don't even ask).
I am not a greedy person and, this month raised 145 for the Royal British Legion in ARRSE's splendid auction by donating 2 of my original artworks. I have just launched a range of T Shirts, the aim, after selling enough to cover cost, is to donate 1.00p per shirt (including the cost shirts) to a charity close to everyone's hearts - Help for Heroes.
Hopefully, as my portfolio and this small business grows I will be able to contribute more to worthy causes, as with ARRSE, I have an open offer, if you are running an event for charity and think a piece of my Artwork could be of help in an auction or whatever, just ask, I can't ALWAYS promise to help but, I do ALWAYS try my best.

I once more apologise for the intrusion but, it was with the greatest of respect and, I have asked 'Pretty please' from Good CO. However, I understand if this thread is removed along with my account.
    Thanks again for your attention.

    Thankyou Yoni and the CocoaKid,
Glad you like my site and thankyou very much indeed for the kind words.
Strangely enough I had a phonecall off a lady this morning who wants a picture for her hubby who's ex Queens Own Hussar. Quite a demanding job after she explained everything she wants in the picture so..........I'd better zoom off and sharpen my pencil.........no quips!!!!

    Hi Fally Fox
Thanks for your comments. When I was at school I started O/A Level art and lasted.....................2 weeks then changed to German as the combination of Graph Paper, fruit and wine bottles nearly drove me over the edge!!!! So, drawing is simply something I've always done just, never got any training or qualifications!!!
Once when I was out of work since leaving the Army, an old friend said I should occupy myself and I studied and gained the Diploma in cartooning thru the Cartoon Academy. It's not a recognised national qual but, I was happy to get it from Roy 'Mitch' Mitchell a fairly well known cartoonist who was my distance tutor. By the time I finished I was back in full time employment so, like you, never pursued it.
I've always enjoyed creating work particularly with pencil and last year this sideshoot developed after I created the 'Lull before the Storm' print to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of my beloved RTR's first successful action at Cambrai in 1917. This started as a doodle but, I posted a dodgy photo on ARRSE and was hit by people requesting copies, hence the signed limited edition print was born.
Currently I'm between jobs again thanks to the credit crunch and redundancy so am able to push a little harder at what I enjoy best.....art. But, as I enjoy it more than see it as a profitable business, I'll never get rich at it. I'd love a job which allowed me to create but, the qualification issue raises it's head again so, I'll get a job....soon hopefully......and continue this in my spare time, if I can give people what they want at a reasonable price while thoroughly enjoying it at the same time and, maybe earning abit of pocket money along the way, so be it.
What I'm trying to say 'mi dear' is don't do yourself down, if you've a talent...............use it even, if like me, it's more for pleasure than profit.
When I get letters of thanks from happy clients it makes it all seem worthwhile. I try to give people memories which are personal to them, many soldiers (unlike me) never traipsed about the world with a camera so, have few pictorial memories, that's where I try to help............memories you know, are all we carry with us through life so it's all about keeping them alive. My book, was only ever designed as a tool to reawaken peoples memories through my recollections of the madcap antics that we got upto. Irregardless of unit or corps, the idea was to say...........this is what we in 3RTR got upto....................what about you? The feedback has been really good with no ill comments whatsoever. People have laughed so much that their sides hurt but, more importantly, it's reawakened their own memories of some of the stuff, good and bad, that happened during their time. A couple blokes complained...........but only because they had to wrest it from their wife's hands to read it as the good ladies couldn't stop laughing either!! It's also aimed at the layman giving plenty of explanation about tanks and life in the Army but.............hopefully.....in a funny way................oh yes, illustrated too. But, It should have a parental advisory........the language is awful!!!!! I've not yet...........in over a year since publication.................received a penny royalties either..........nor do I know how many have sold.....................not the best publisher it has to be said.....................I may have to buy a load in myself and sell signed copies from my website. At least I'll know how many I've sold. If any of you wish to scribe your own book and feel I may be of help in giving publishing help......contact me I'll be only too happy to help where I can as.............it's a bloody minefield!!!
Anyway Fally Fox I just wanted to give you a bit of encouragement.....if you've a dream......chase it, let's see one of your pictures up on here??

Welcome A3B. I have seen your work which is outstanding. Not to mention I seem to have acquired one of your T shirts from Trelawney! Might be worth sticking a few pics on here for us all to see. Sean Bean would go down very well or Daniel Craig??!! Not that we are a shallow bunch you understand.

Re: Arthur3Bums From ARRSE says hello!!

Dizzy would I be correct in saying that you remain an Enigma to Trelawney? Anyway a couple of pics it shall be................... Firstly the inevitable 'Armoured Farmers' T Shirt which they all seem to be ranting about, please excuse my waistline........I am working on it..................promise.

This one I completed yesterday as a commission for someone of Lewis Hamilton................I'm blackmailing him currently to let me run prints of it for sale to the public as, the commissioner buys the picture, without his permission I can't print copies!!!!! On the other hand, this commission comes in valued by a gallery at around the 200 mark, I'd let him have it for 150 but, he may not want to pay yet so....I'll keep you informed about prints. As I've said....they are not only Army/Navy/RAF pics that I do.

Thes two portraits were for me and my Alpha callsign.....
Firstly Dominic my 9 year (yes I was a late starter) old son

    Then Lauren..my 17year old stepdaughter

Lastly a presentation piece commissioned by an Hooocifier in 2RTR....His personal Challenger2 tank from Op Telic last year.

Anyway, I hope you like..................? Daniel Craig? Regarded by my Alpha as simply........Fit? Well, I'll see what I can do.

I remain an Enigma to most people A3B but yes, I am indeed. That is the T shirt I seem to have acquired. Trelawney turns up with all sorts of presents - a bit like the cat!!

That tank is a truely magnificent piece. You really do have a true talent.

Im going to have to lie down in a dark room now and think of Daniel Craig....
