    Hi

    Hi,
Have just joined this site as there are no local mums of soldiers in my area.
My husband is ex services and my eldest son joined up and is abroad now with my third son awaiting his 18th so he can follow in their footsteps!
My other sons have picked different career paths.

You wont hear tales of woe from me by the way, I am here so I can be in touch with folks in similar positions. I do have bebo and facebook which is one way I keep in touch with my son and it helps especially with girlfriend side of things as they need support too and find it less daunting to ask me questions online in that format.

One thing I will need help on though is the army slang - has changed a tad since my husbands day and I think i need a code book to decipher my lads letters!

Some people are like slinkies, they're really good for nothing...but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs!

    Re: Hi

    Thank you all

Pleased to be here and spent most of yesterday evening reading various threads but still do not know what my son meant when he requested 'noggles' - might just send him a pot noodle and maybe next time he will more clear to his Mum!!

    Hi and welcome
This was all I could find on Google....but somehow I'm almost 100% certain that's not what he meant......

Tact is for people who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic.

    OMG!

I haven't laughed that much for ages - will print that out so my son can see it when he's on leave next!
Never thought to look in our Profanasaurus either - off to do that now!

    Thanks for that
