Question Help, anyone know current situation at nuneaton?

    Hi guys.

We left nuneaton (30 sigs) nearly 10 years ago but since then they have started accomodating tons more gurkah (so can't spell that) wives.

We're wondering about putting in for a posting there again but before we do so we wondered what the housing situation is like now. Ideally we would like to live on camp. We used to live on Alderney Close and we'd happily do so again, but obviously there aren't tons of houses on there. I vaguely remeber Alma Court area was hideous with no gardens just courtyards.... (then again they could have (should have) levelled them and rebuilt by now)

I've read there are now tons of hirings, but we definately prefer living on camp if possible. (Any info on the hirings etc though would be helpful too - beggars and choosers and all that) I would ring the Hive but apparently it's unmanned and I can't see Birmingham Hive being overly helpful....

So if anyone out there is either at nuneaton or has only just moved please please could you help me out with any info on the current housing situation!
So far today I've done alright. I haven't gossiped, I haven't lost my temper, I haven't been greedy, grumpy or very indulgent. But in a few minutes, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on, I'm going to need a lot more help.

I'm probably as much use as a chocolate teapot on this but nobody else seems to be about. Has Mr Crafty tried speaking to the families officer? The one where we are now was very helpful when we were trying to work out where to ask for (I don't think we spoke to the Hive at all). *By 'we' obviously I mean Mr K*
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here.

Actually I hadn't considered the welfare office. I was thinking I might ring the HIC anyway, I know they won't be able to tell me anything other than the 'party line' but any info is better than none.

Since we aren't currently within a Sig Regt I can't ask arround to see if anyone knows anyone at 30. It's well irritating. Also considering how many foreign wives are in nuneaton one would have thought manning the Hive would have been a priority. Gah!

I don't like to bother the welfare office, but I'll approach them if I get nowhere with the HIC.

Aren't the HICs manned now by people who have never heard of the patch much less visited it to have an opinion?!

Pretty much, and the actual estate warden (who has at least been there) is never ever ever available. I can only conclude that it's against regulations to give you good advice. (Sometimes I have this dream where you tell them you are posted and they give you this list of all the available houses along with prices and a summary of the garden sizes, room sizes, distence from camp etc so that you can pick which one you want - but then that would be assuming that we weren't all over-grown children who have no concept of taking responsibility for ourselves!)

The best thing about nuneaton is the brand new 4 bedroom houses that they built with a lovely veiw over the sports pitches. The sports pitches that a couple of years later they built the new singley blocks on!!! Google Earth it if you don't believe me. The blocks are about 20 metres away from the houses! (On the south side incidently - so the houses not only get the block's music, bbq smoke, views of (half)naked blokes and shouting matches after a 'good' night out, they also get very little decent sunlight!!)

My biggest concern is going to be that I get so fed up with the whole thing that I say something really sarcastic to the HIC and end up in a 1 bedroom rabbit hutch with cold running water in the outer hebrides.
