    May meet, looking for names.....

    Hello,

I know it's July before anyone points it out but I was hoping to float an idea.

Would anyone be interested in either helping me pull together or attending a RP weekend away in May?

I'm thinking May to give us all time to look at what we'd like, where we'd like it, how much it'd cost us, and to pay it in chunks rather than forking out all in one go.

I've organised a couple of crawls before with a little success over on ARRSE but I'd like to step this up, rather than a drinking session how about a proper event?

    Idea 1
Meeting in Blackpool-Brighton-Skegness-Other cheesy seaside town with a little life but not to much financial outlay involved, hiring accommodation in one location, having an afternoon event (ten pin bowling, go kart racing, bingo ) evening meal of fish and chips from the local chippy, night on the town, back to accommodation, breakfast, hair of the dog, lunch then off.

    Idea 2
    Anyone?

PM me to volunteer, or add your ideas here.

    Beebs x

I'd be up for it Beebs. Butlins is usually good for mass accomodation on a budget!

Was thinking if the numbers were good we might get a B&B to do a full house rate.

Nothing against Butlins, but you're a captive audience!

I can do that! Does anyone fancy Ilfracombe in sunny North Devon? Lots of bronzed surfer types to ogle!!I MIGHT know someone who knows someone who runs a B&B and i have it on good authority that The Pier Tavern is a good night out (ie it sells Cornish Rattler cider on draught)! I could also provide a 'local' guide for the night

Might I suggest for that one not a charity but the not for profit organisation set up next door, Hols4Heros?

I'd be willing to get involved somehow but not sure how you could scout ents, food and travel until we have an idea of location/choice of locations to look at.
Heaven wont have me, hell is scared I'll take over. Time for the pub!

On the move this weekend. Not sure yet where I'm going or when I'll get there.....hope theres enough vodka in the car.

Easy, you cost them, get timings, look at the best value for money, investigate the transport links to the area we're looking at.

mainly you all work together, you ask questions, you gather intel and you share it here.

Re: May meet, looking for volunteers.....

    So, so far we have....

    Scouts
    Accommodation - bigbird67
    Entertainment - scuba_angel
    Food - ?
    T-shirts - sootycat
    Travel - schlafenmonster

    Suggested charity, Holidays 4 Heroes.

Also suggested it's a family affair during the day, with a suggestion that you try to arrange childcare in the evening for a girlie night out.

That we have the weekend shirts in red only, as in Support Our Troops red.

Another suggestion is we start saving now, putting monies away each week and that we pay the t-shirt, accommodation, food and entertainment entry fees before Christmas. Then continue saving for the event itself.

Anyone else got any ideas, want to hitch their wagon or throw in to help out?

May... just looking at numbers then will throw dates and ideas up.

Just keep every weekend in May free until Christmas.

You're now number two, that means I pm you if people are flapping and you listen to me flapping.

    Beebs x

    PS I never flap.

Recent update from the Snail, if she's able to, she'll be there.

Her internet's tits up, she's bedded down and hopes to catch up this evening when she goes out to get some air.

    Get well soon, ya tart!

Unless you've already decided that you want that slapper Boots to be your list mistress. Nah, only I know what you are like when you are organising stuff. She'd never last the distance.
