Thread: Help needed ASAP re Ebay BFPO ARRRRRRGGHH!

Okay this may be a bit long and convoluted so please bear with me.

Hubby and I (well mainly me) wanted and ebay account. So I set up a joint account in hubs name and because I am nowhere near fluent enough to trade on ebay.de (sorry, we're currently posted in Germany) I set it up in his parents address, where he has all his other UK stuff registered, drivers license etc.

Anyway, as you do we bid on a few bits we needed, and ended up winning a couple of items, to which I sent a polite email to the seller requesting that she post it to a BFPO address, I explained the situ, that we were temporarily posted to Germany, the postal costs were the same yadda yadda yadda.

Well if the stupid bitch didn't report me to ebay and have the fecking account suspended. Then had that audacity to put an unpaid notice on me for not sending money through the suspended account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently we have to prove that we are who we say we are with utility bills and passports, drivers licenses (my husbands is still at the DVLA getting points) so it's all a bit of a mess at the mo. Plus all our utilities are all in with our German SFA.

My Q being, that I know of other wives who get stuff delivered through ebay by using tunbridge wells or something in the postcode of an ebay account............................

Does anyone know how to set up a UK ebay account so that it delivers to BFPO via Tunbridge wells sorting office without me getting yet another account suspended for "abuse of terms and conditions"?

Time for a shameless plug.

Yes, I do know of a way but not using the other postcode. Although sending parcels to BFPO Ruislip sometimes gets through it is not allowed by BFPO as they have been told t stop it by their auditors (I have had this conversation with them in detail) and so the items are not insured/do not qualify for compensation.

All you have to do is send me an email or give me a ring in the first instance. When you win an item, get it sent to me. By this time you should have already registered on our website and so I will have your quarter address and I will deliver it to you on my next run out there (currently every week).

The delivery charges are reasonable as this is one of the aims of my company. There are no size or weight restrictions and delivery is usually on a weekend with no extra charge.

Free plug over, back to work I guess.

I have just moved to Javelin Barracks, Elmpt and also just made my first purchase on UK ebay using my account that I have always had. There is no way I could cope without it! Also, I cannot find anywhere that sells Benefit make up products so ebay is my only hope!

You simply need to update your address details to a BFPO address. You may have to search the FAQ's. I seem to remember that you go to add new address, and when you select country you choose something like AFPO? fairly near the top. Not Germany or UK. This enables you to register your bfpo address, thus not breaking any laws of ebay!

I simply send a courtesy message to sellers before making a purchase, just to give them a heads up (only because I had read about your crazy lady - there is no reason for them to refuse to post to BFPO) and everyone has been lovely! (You may need to explain to them how BFPO works i.e goes to sorting office in London, then they forward so same charges apply as within UK)

The BFPO rules apply regarding aerosols etc so bare this in mind when making purchases. However, I cannot see any probs buying crazy costumes for Oktoberfest :wink: Yeehah!!

I am having much less luck updating my paypal account!!
