Thread: How to behave?

Anyone ever heard of a course run by Military to teach the non serving partner how to behave at mess functions and how to host an At Home night?


I think its a load of old bollocks but a friend of a friend of a friend says she is off on said course.

If such a course exists I want to go on it, I hate to miss out on anything : )

With you on the load of old bollox!! Would be an absolute hoot though and I think I'd be expelled!!

we should see if they'd do an RP one - do you think they'd be able to "tame" us?! I often see Mr M roll his eyes at something I've done or said that I probably shouldn't. But hey ho, its not me in the army! I try to be a good army wife, I really do, but its just not in me!

Don't know about how to behave (could be good for a giggle) but a course in basic good manners might not go amiss with some of the lot up here.

We had the Wardroom round for supper a couple of weeks ago. One wife turned up in filthy, honking jodhpurs which I could understand if they were late (they weren't), didn't bother coming to find me in the kitchen to say hi (everyone else did) and left without say thank you or goodbye. I still don't know her name The other thing that has surprised me was that I haven't received one thank you letter and I find that really odd. I always send a little note to say thank you. I dunno maybe I'm just very old fashioned at the grand old age of 35!

Maybe I'm lucky that my OH's ship has only had one wife night. Word has got round, obviously...
