gonzo, that must be muscle you are putting on and not weight! how are your clothes fitting? if they are looser, that's what counts.

if you are not eating more and you are working out more, you WILL loose it. it doesn't happen over night unfortunately. also, it's like a moving goal post as well. once you loose a little, and see the results, you probably will want to loose another little bit. or maybe that's just me...never happy!!

best of luck with it tho. keep at it!

TLC I went to zumba 2 weeks ago and loved it. I was knackered when I came out and certainly used most of the muscles in my body. I couldn't go last week as I was poorly, and hubby is away so I can't go tonight but I am booked to go next week. Its alot of fun, and gets you moving.

Zumba is a realli good cardio workout and light toning is involved to but if you've got back or knee problems it might cause abit of discomfort.

Ive onli done it once myslef and throughly enjoyed it so definatly recommend it

Even if u go and try it and decide u dnt like ti give it a go!

    xx

I do Zumba every week and I LOVE it the pace can be quite quick but once you have been shown the steps its quite easy to follow. I would really recommend giving it a try x

More sex gonzo...more sex will solve that problem. Failing that tell us what you are doing in the gym. Maybe you are not doing the right exercise or something.

Agree sex is the best way to lose calories, (however, my OH hasn't been home for the past 6mths, bar r&r so i can't comment on that anymore!) also...remember, to lose the weight, you have to cut down on food intake and keep exercising, you do still need fuel for the body, but cut back on the food and keep the exercise up and you should see results.

Plus resistance training is good too, that keeps burning fat after exercise has finished, and interval training.....

    Good luck!

I do love Zumba... I go to a class at the gym on camp here and I love it...

I joined the gym on camp last year in an effort to get fit and tone... Although I seem to have damaged my shoulder! (see - fitness is bad for your health) So while I'm at physio for my shoulder, resistance work is a no-no and I'm keeping it to exercise classes, so I'm doing Step and Zumba at the gym - and I've also signed up to tap dancing classes at a local dancing school! I love it!!

I'm a bit annoyed because although I can tell my fitness is improving (I did a 2-mile run the other day - the first of the year, and it was a lot easier than the last time I ran it) - but I still weigh the same I did at christmas!! Not happy about that!!

To be honest I joined the classes as much for the social aspect as for the fitness side, but I do love them! I just wish the weight would start to drop off!!

I agree that the worse part of exercise if getting the motivation to get changed and get out the house, but I find having classes to go to means that I have to go out at a certain time, otherwise I'm letting myself down and that seems to do the trick!

I wasn't actively looking to loose weight, but a lot of my size 10 stuff is too big now.

It may not be the easiest time of the year to start, but it IS good and you will see dramatic body/fitness changes, especially if you set yourself a goal of moving up (classes are divided into groups by ability).

Am sure there are some fellow BMFers here though!
I do Forces Fit, which is the same kinda thing as BMF. These type of classes are awesome, the PTIs really know their stuff and in my experience everyone in the group gets something out of it whether they are super fit or just starting out.

My friend's looking to lose a few stone and is a Zumba/Wii fan. She wanted to try Forces Fit and I was convinced she'd hate it because it can be hard work and I just didn't think she'd enjoy that kind of work out. But she loved it and is still going a couple of times a week.

I like it because every session is different and you feel really proud of yourself afterwards x
