    Bordon

    Right,

Very soon to succum to Pad-dome and lose my v-i-r-g-i-n-i-t-y as I bag my blokey for good, Im currently doing that running up and down the country for job interviews thingy and quite rightly I NOW understand why it would be considered to be a bit stressful. It doesnt bother me too much, Im quite happy on the M6 bopping away to the radio.

So already Im in awe of any 'wife of' who has done this many many times before me.

It's not EVER going to change! Just as well he luuuurves me and buys me lovely shoes!

Anyone at Bordon and recommend some 'out of work' activites?

Dancing classes, zumba, running routes, best restaurant, shopping places etc?

The HIVE are usually a fabulous 1st port of call for info on local activities. They may even have a community centre for 'wives of' where they hold coffee mornings and various other events. Well worth a phone call to them.
Dont know Bordon personally so cant be any help on hat score. Have you had a look at patchpedia to see if theres anything useful on there?

My only memory of Bordon is the little heart shaped clearing by the SEME  I'll not say any more.

    Re: Bordon

I know Bordon reasonably well as I come from Winchester. It's not the centre of the universe but it's between the A3 and the A31, as I am sure you have discovered, and that's a pretty good place to be.
About half an hour south you have the South coast beaches. I am personally a big fan of Southsea.
Guildford and Winchester, both great for shopping are within shouting distance. Farnham is the closest town. There is pretty much everything you could want in Farnham (other than a big Mall) including a Waitrose, some really nice pubs and restaurants, dance classes, groups and clubs of every type.
Bordon is quite rural, so there are loads of places to walk and run.
I am fairly local, so if you need a friendly face when you get there, give me a shout.

    Lizzy,

When you go into Guildford do not wear any type of heels. You will never make it up and down the cobbles!

Nice shopping in Farnham and lots of evening activites go on there. Alton's quiet but not bad either.

I've been known to regularly rattle through Bordon on my way to the coast so deffo up for a glass or three

Just to add, I love getting the train to Guildford from where I am now, 20 mins on a direct route, much nicer place to shop than Bracknell, Camberley or Aldershot.

Me too - l jump on the train everyday to Guildford - its a novelty for me but listening to work colleagues complain about traffic and l grin cos 10 mins walk to station, 15 mins train ride and 10 mins walk to work - brilliant!!

Guildford is a lovely shopping town, nice restaurants and pubs too.

OK, so currently packing as we take over the quarter this thursday I have two weeks left at work then start new job at the end of the month. Yes ladies, I have to move countries on Boxing day!

Although, I am willing to forgive all of this housing/moving malarky as I have actually managed to bag my dream job and it feels GREAT!!

We do have to transit the majority of our belonging in this horrendous weather in Scottish-shire.

I already have a wee liking for Farnham, Farnborough is a shithole and Bordon doesnt have anywhere enough shops.

So, recommendations for salons please ladies....................

Great news on the job, Liz! Fantastic. As for the area you're moving to, I don't know it well at all - hopeless, me. Sounds close enough to nice places though

And Reading....Lakeland is my new guilty pleasure and I can barely burn toast!

Lizzy I think I've mentioned it elsewhere but when you get down here give me a shout - it looks like I'm going to be living close to the hospital you're working at from some point early in the new year!
