Thread: Perham Down

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on the area around Perham Down. OH is being posted there in November, I spoke to housing today and they said there is a major shortage of accommodation at Perham Down and surrounding areas (Tidworth, Bulford) and they are over flowing people in to Andover (??!!).
Can anyone give me a heads up about the accommodation in these areas and schools/nursery, i've got 2 boys- 10yr old and 4yr old. 10 yr is dreading the move, are there many clubs/after school activities in the area??

Hiya. Not sure of the situation but we are being moved to Tidworth early next year - the whole battalion! We put Tidworth and Perham Down as our prefs. Was told to steer clear of Bulford and Larkhill

If you want to get accurate information on a posting to Perham Down and facilities available in the Tid'n'Bul area i would speak to Tidworth HIVE on 01980 60 2224 and speak to Nicole. it's what they are paid to do.

The info will be up to date and reliable, you will also get a speedy response.

Contact the Unit Welfare Office for the Unit, again the HIVE will have the number. Although they will not be able to influence where you live in the Garrison they may be able to put you at ease about where their soldiers are currently accommodated.

I know well that the housing sit in Tid'n'Bul is almost at tipping point but the situation will get better after the major changeover that is happening now.

Liaise with DE about what you have in mind and they will manage your expectations.
