We ARE the Rear Party, that which remains and carries on sending support to the front and to each other.

Sorry, but it's true...loads of suggestions - including my own tongue-in-cheek nonsense (obviously wasn't serious but just in case anyone out there is thick enough to think I was) - are just cheesy as fk or utter rubbish.

I was racking my brains all day yesterday and couldn't think of anything that sounded even half decent. I vote we stay as RP'ers

I only heard that it pops up in IT filters as a "gay" website..but that's just someone's dirty little mind working overtime in the IT offices if you ask me...

I have never thought Rear Party was a good name, but on the other hand we never came up with anything better. It's a really tricky problem. I don't think there is any harm in considering a change - everyone will stay the same regardless of the site name, but it could help a lot in attracting new members and making the URL memorable.

As a small example, imagine your local hive magazine with an advert "Rear Party - join now", versus "Forces Family Forum - Join now". I prefer the name Rear Party, but I suspect the latter would be more effective.

Forces Family Forum sounds really, really official and serious though! It conjours up images of a MOD run site for me. But then again, I have a strange fear of 'officialdom'!

Maybe the 'party' could stay but the rear has to go!

(Mind you I have been wishing that my whole life!)

Milly Tant would probably fit us better me thinks! (Not that I'm suggesting any of we lovelies even vaguely resemble Ms Tant of course - trying to get rid of the Viz image now).

And I'm not suggesting it for the name change. It's a crap name.

The Sun newspaper has "The Millies" awards, so that could be a bit confusing.

I'm quite happy with the name Rear Party. I've been trying to think of alternatives, but I've discovered I'm no good at acronyms (loved the OhBugg@r).

How about something Purple? I could only think of Purple Haze, and I'm not sure that would really do.

ZeroAlpha sadly was already taken on most suffixes.

How about "horsdecombat" (available on .co.uk)?

Got to admit, I'm with bootifull and oldish bag, RP is fine. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Stick it to a vote. Keep the familiar RearParty name or go with some newfangled Corporate Claptrap?

Like it, but not 'sanctuary' and annoyingly ffs.com and .co.uk have gone and so bizarrely has ohffs.com and .co.uk. fuckmebackwards.co.uk is available though which is nice.
