It seems there is some confusion over PERSEC and OPSEC again.
Let's see if I can't clear it up as simply as possible.
PERSEC is personal security.
We all have the right to tell as little or as much about OURSELVES as we like. We can tell people who we are, where we live, what we do for a living, how many kids we have, what colour shoes we like to wear and if we eat our greens.
The site rules ask that we NEVER use full names or those of any other person we know.
OPSEC is Operational Security.
None of us have the right to post details that might lead to our friends or families, serving, being identified or their movements, location or details of past tours/operations being open to the public when the powers that be would rather they didn't.
The site rules ask that we NEVER use full names or those of any other person we know.
FOOTNOTE that might get you thinking.....
In the gallery we have some fantastic pics, please make sure the rest of the people in them have agreed to them being posted here.
If you are going to say 'Well my OH said......' and his pictures in the gallery his right to PERSEC has gone. His opinion has been posted and his mates and CO's might not agree.
The Armed Forces is actually a very small community. As part of it you are responsible for the health and well being of EVERY serving member, their family and loved ones, and they are of you and yours.Don;t worry they don't all expect birthday presents. Just me.
Sorry to labour the point, but PLEASE be careful in what you post, and remember if you don't want to answer the question simply say so. You have the right to do so. NO-ONE has the right to attack another person for exercising this right.
