Hiya
Thinking of moving to Helensburgh to be with my hubby but Ive never lived on a married patch before and would love some advice about the area and if its easy to make friends - no kids at the moment
My advice would be to visit a couple of times and see if you like the area first. Its about 40 mins from Glasgow on a train (or drive) its a big place in terms of land size but it doesnt have big shopping centres etc. There is Clydebank which is about 10 mins away but for the best shops go to Glasgow(im from there). I have never lived in the Burgh but know what its like to move away from home to a new place. If you contact the HIVE at Faslane: http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/De...aslaneHive.htm they will be able to give you better info on the actual patch.
They said it could'nt be done, so I did'nt do it
Thats lovely thanks for the advice, love Glasgow been a few times x

I hear that the Sportsdrome at Faslane is very popular, pool, various classes and so on.
Naval Base's Magazine is the Clyde Courier:

Mixed reviews from up there, I'm afraid. I have family in the area and it can be a bit iffy, but can be quite lovely, too.
Mrs Bobster's right, go and visit before taking the plunge.

I never seen this thread, well I did - just never realised where it was!
Well, I will be up there sooner rather than later 0 hopefully - so I shall let you know!!
Brilliant keep me posted x
Will do - once I know more, I will send you a PM.
Is your fella there already? Or is he being posted there soon?
Is that a private message? you can tell im new to this

Yes, she means a Private Message.
If you would like to send a Private Message to Kayleigh, just click on the little square which says PM under her name on the left hand side.
As soleil said! I was just thinking by the time I get up there, it would be just easier to put it all in a private message!
Either way, I shall let you know what I find out as and when I find out!![]()
Thanks for that, will get the hang of this thing eventually
