    handy tips, thanks! I think our house must be one of the oldest army houses in the history of the world, we still have storage heaters (which i have never used) and the seals around the doors and windows are terrible. Ive found this year though from putting up black out/thermal blinds up and closing the curatins as well, that the house is significantly warmer. We've only switched on one of our oil heaters and it seems to heat the whole house up!

    Yes, better to pay log man than fuel company, but even better to scavenge wood from skips and divert from landfill to fireplace.
