Rear Part on the Huff Post UK

I linked to the Rear Party on my latest Huff Post blog:

Clare Macnaughton: "Feminist" is a dirty word

I am now blogging regularly (every Monday) at In The Powder Room - a ladies straight talking magazine site

In the Powder Room | Women's Online Community | News, Reviews, Humor

    Domestic slavery

Plus I am now writing for RAF News and also every month in Wiltshire Life.

I am still tub thumping. I am quite surprised by the reaction on the whole.

I haven't got started on pensions yet!! Who has a pension? I haven't? GULP!!! Pushing 40 - it's time to stop putting it off. Also, do you pay your NI to ensure that you at least are eligible for a state pension (if it is still in existence!).

START SORTING YOURSELF OUT A BLOODY PENSION!

Or invest in something that will be the equal of one. Property or some such.

Because I can tell you, being supported by the state won't be comfortable. I despair I really do. The economic down turn won't go on forever. Do you, (aimed at all women who don't have this sorted), want to rely on your bloke? Divorce is now a high statistic, don't assume he'll be there to look after you financially, and if he is, you'll have extra to enjoy the golden years together!

DO look into paying into your own private pension though.

Anyone who hasn't got a pension is a mug IMO.

Currently got 2, well kinda, I have two started pensions and I don't think either will do me much good. Maybe I should talk to my dad, he's always good at this sort of stuff (I have no bloke to rely on).

I have a really good pension which I will have to give up (freeze) when I move to my next job although all my bosses (55+) like to joke I will never get to draw it as they will have banned retirement and we will all be forced to work till we drop and for several years after that!

Mr D's plan is to live off me post green- charming!
All the cool kids have a signature but I have nothing witty or profound to say.

Yes - you are completely right. I have one that I could use when I get some spare dosh.

*plans to shovel buckets loads of cash into pension plan when strike the big time*
