I don't disagree necessarily that I felt ganged up on but I am big, bad and ugly enough to handle it but I am not sure if others could. I agree that if they were to read this thread they might be put off joining Rear Party.
I disagree - I think that it's got nothing to do with site membership and a lot more to do with exactly what the site is all about - people being allowed to express their opinions. It's just one blog, it's not representative of the entire site (thankfully)
hear hear - why would people be put off joining the site by open and frank discussion? we are all adults :? (well ok before anyone who knows me says it - except me )

Sorry whicheverIDyouareusingtoday, you need to read back and note exactly who switched this thread from debate into a full blown tantrum with patronising, finger pointing and swearing thrown in for good measure.

All you are doing is heaping pompous patronising on top of pompus patronising by inserting your 'concern' about some anonymous message. So why not simply stop rather than heaping yet more of your lecturing wisdom on our heads?

I'm not sure if I'm missing something here but I'm not quite sure what the purpose of telling people you are both PR_Totty and AMMM is? This is a straight up question and I'd be interested to know cos I'm kinda scratching my head wondering.

C5, I have a feeling we're having our cards marked by one of the 'bosses'.

Right. I'll await to hear different but if that is the case then I'd just like to say 'FFS'.

PR_Totty is the avator I use in my professional capacity working for Rear Party HQ handling all the media enquiries for this site, ARRSE and Rum Ration. I also run The Book Club on ARRSE and work closely with COs on many aspects of all three sites.
so the person pmmed you as PR Totty rather than one of the mods? That is the only reason I can see for you reminding us you have another login, unless you are trying to threaten posters who have criticised you. If you put yourself in the public eye - as you have done by blogging - you must be prepared for people disagreeing with you

I have no idea what is going on here. Would someone sane please explain it? I didn't know we were allowed sock puppets.
You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dextrous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.

I just thought I would let you know. I am not threatening anyone. It shouldn't make any difference. Why would you treat me any differently? It's not like I have said that I am beyond rebuke in this matter.
I already knew you are PR Totty and wouldn't treat you any differently to any other poster on this site - it makes no difference who you are or what you do for a living. I would have expected someone who is a PR professional to be able to argue coherently but you don't demonstrate such a skill on this thread

You're absolutely right, it shouldn't make any difference. I should think that the majority of the longer standing posters know exactly who you are, I certainly did. I just don't see why you felt the need to flex your muscles to be honest.

    Re: A Modern Military Mother

And, I'm sorry, this thread? THIS THREAD? This thread where the majority of members have been super polite and are just disagreeing about something? THIS is the thread that will scare off the newbies? Are you serious? Because I can think of some of the threads I read on my first day that were just for laughs that almost had me running for the hills. Why would courtesy scare people off when the have a moan thread or I&B or the pregnancy horror stories one (ack, my brain still needs bleaching from that) didn't scare them off? Confused bakerella is confused.

Ummm, I still don't quite see the point (to be fair, it is 0130 and I am at work) Why not keep both identities separate, unless you now want to be defined by both your professional and personal role? Anyone for coffee?!

Oh GOD COFFEE. Just the word sends the smell wafting to my nostrils. I desperately want coffee, but I drank the last of it today and the shop is not open until morning. SOB

Coffee would be good. I love coffee....have massive day tomorrow.

I am working on RESTREPO Check out the You Tube clip!

Have you heard about it? It's an awesome film. I think it will get an Oscar. If you are in the USA you might have heard about it - it's about these US marines in the Korengal in Afg getting pounded but it's amazing. So watchable and so sad and yet gripping. It's like Band of Brothers but it's a documentary.

It's based on a book by War, Sebastian Junger (The Perfect Storm) he was embedded with them.
