    Xbox Kinect - worth getting?

    Hiya,

OH's birthday coming up and I know he'd like the new Xbox 360 as we have been making do with the older white 360, I can either buy one with the Kinect included or one without - don't know anyone particular who has it and was wondering if its a worthy add on to pay a little extra for? I've read a few online reviews about space problems some have had, just wanted a few thoughts if you have experience of the Kinect? we do have a Wii too so not sure wether it's going to be just the same and not worth paying more for a similar product?

Mr Joey LOVES his Kinect. You need at least 6 feet of space for them to work properly. I personally prefer it to the Wii, but I think it depends how much more it is. If it's another £50 I'd do it, if it's another £200 I wouldn't be so sure.

My OH loves the Kinect. There are only a few games for it at the mo, but I hear there's lots more coming out soon.

The Xbox also doubles up as our DVD player, which means we operate the opening menu just by waving a hand...

As much as it pains me to say it the Kinect is brilliant as long as you have enough room for it. Sometimes we have to sit on the sofa to play!!! If i had the same amount of room to play on it like they do on the adverts then i would be dancing around my living room a lot more lol

Totally agree, we have one and it's really good and the kids love it but you do need a lot of room to play it properly and we struggle to play the 2 player games because we don't have a great deal of space. It's very good though, we especially like the dancing games.

We're not gamers but have a Wii and a Kinect. Playing "Adventure" with Mr Laws is one of the funniest thing ever as he gets all masculine and scientific. I just go for it!! Tis true about the room needed but worth a bit of furniture moving!!
