What will you be having on yours?
We're moving tomorrow and I've packed the sodding frying pan! Ah well, we'll just have to have pancake-another-day![]()
So what's everyone giving up, I'd be good at this apart from the OH is back just before Easter and I think that I'll end up breaking most... I was thinking I could give up my personal trainer for Lent, that's a hardship right?
No more aching muscles, but alas, she'd make me pay when I went back!
Nothing to see here, move on by....
I'm giving up work![]()
All the cool kids have a signature but I have nothing witty or profound to say.
I'm giving up living in SFA![]()
I'm with Gonzo!
I can't decide whether to be a good example or a horrible warning
Hubby has volunteered to give up beer! I bet he drops a stone before easter (he's a fit man but my god has he got a beer belly on him at the moment!). I'm feeling I should support him in that but I don't actually drink beer so I don't know what to give up. Any ideas?
NOT CHOCOLATE just to get that out of the way.
I don't actually know how to make british pancakes, which are more like crepes to my (American) perspective. Has anyone got a good recipe? I got in nutella, lemon juice, and syrup for toppings. Help a sister out!
"The chaperon makes sure no-one else has any fun, but nobody chaperons the chaperon. That's why I'm so right for this job."
My kids are misery gutses (if that's a word!) and don't want pancakes. Don't want to make them just for me cos I will sit and eat a pile of the things.
Not giving up anything - have already given up smoking cos of the baby and apart from the odd Guinness for medicinal purposes I haven't had a drink for 5 months either. I'm going to be grumpy and cling on to what I can have!
How about you both give up alcohol?
From memory
55g plain flour
pinch salt
1 egg
140ml milk
oil or melted butter for cooking...
Sift the flour and salt in a bowl, then beat the egg and and milk together, slowly add the liquid to the flour and beat until you have a smooth batter.
Pour into a pan of hot oil in a thin layer, shake the pan gently so it doesn't stick once it starts to cook, then when it's cooked on one side, stand back and toss the pancake in the pan..... and don't drop it!
I'm a traditional pancake girl and it has to be lemon and sugar for me

As I have just waved off Mr S I told him I'm giving up sex for lent! should be able to keep that one.
