    Quarters in Chicksands

    Hi all

We are being posted to Chicksands at the end of February, beginning of March. We have been given a quarter in North area was just wondering what these are like and we have a 2 1/2 year old who will need childcare, is there many options around for childminders or nursery

Sorry if seen this post twice, new to site, so have posted this elsewhere too, but decided better here

    Many thanks

    Hi Amber, welcome to RP

Can't comment on the childcare bit, as we don't have rugrats, but Chicks is a nice place, smells of onions, lovely area, the houses are nice, good size, quite modern (for AF standards!), hope that you will be happy there. You will probably need a car as the main town is probably a little bit too far too walk and the back gate is only open twice a day and on term time only.

    Good luck with the move

Thank you for your reply, we have seen the area and it looks very nice, certainly lots of places to walk the dog. See what you mean about needing a car xx

Back gate permanently open until March as front gate closed!! It also now has a swipe entry for pedestrians 24/7.

Onion smell only when wind blows across camp from factory!!

Think plenty of childcare about. Loads of space for walking dogs.

Nearest village has supermarket, docs, dentist, takeaways, restaurants, pubs, garage, library, chemist to name a few and is a mile from the bottom gate.

Carpets are cream so carpet cleaner advisable.

PM me with any questions. If you let me have your road name I can tell you exactly where!!
When the going gets tough - drink wine!!
