    posting to pirbright!

Hubby has a 2 yr posting to Pirbright - What are the houses like and the surrounding areas like ? I really don't want to move to a crappy house and I don't want to be to far away from his work as I don't want to be stranded at home with no car.

    thanx

    Welcome to RP.

Try the Patchpedia page. There might not be a lot on housing but there are links to the HIVE who can tell you what's what.

Good luck with not moving to a crappy house. In my experience it's a given!

    Hi and welcome

From what i've seen from the houses at Pirbright they are OK, some are slightly old with pebble dash - the ones at top anyway.

I've not been inside any though but to be fair they look OK usual army pads all have gardens.
I only know this from when I went to visit hubby when he was in training on the day out they were allowed. lol...
It will depend I thought on your requirements?...

hope you move to a nice house.
    best of luck
Jack Daniels you are LOVELY but Naughty too......

    Hiya,

We're at Pirbright at the mo. They're alright. All differnt types, most are dated from the outside but inside they're a decent size. The houses at Pirbright are walking distance to the train station, with direct links to Woking, Guildford and London.

You may get a house at Deepcut which are a decent size just again don't look great from the outside. Then there's Aldershot which is really varied. Any of these areas are possible. I'd say try for Pirbright though as he can walk/cycle to work and leave you the car

    Hope it goes well x

the husband was at pirbight and we unfortunatly had a house in deepcut..... they are disgusting!! id really push for a house in pirbight or aldershot if possible. it was the worst house we have had and because deepcut is closing down they wont do major repairs on the houses because they arent sure of whats happening with them!

Don't know what the houses are like, but I live in Woking just down the road near Sainsburys in Brookwood. Woking is good for shopping, as is Guildford. Sainsburys is quite close to you, as is Brookwood train station where you can get to Woking and Guildford pretty easily. There are buses around but not sure what goes where! It's quite a nice area (well I think so anyway!)

We live in Pirbright, I have found some houses are good some are bad. We have been very lucky and got a great house. From what I'm told the houses at the bottom of the estate are the better ones. (This is where we are). As long as you drive there are loads of areas close by Guildford & Woking being the closest. Sainsburys the closest supermarket but there is a Morrisons & Tescos fairly close to.

If you get Pirbright H can easily walk to work from any of the houses, so you can have the car!

There are several childrens play areas on patch that are popular and great areas to walk the dogs.
If you want anymore info just give me a shout.

CF - fancy putting some of that info on to the patchpedia? Dead easy to do once you've made yourself an account, one of the gurus can tidy it up later.
Heaven wont have me, hell is scared I'll take over. Time for the pub!

On the move this weekend. Not sure yet where I'm going or when I'll get there.....hope theres enough vodka in the car.

Don't worry about it, I'm still adding to the Camberley page as I find things, been here a couple of months and figure a few odd bits of info here and there is better than nothing at all - and might hopefully encourage other people to add to it later.
