    Married Unaccompanied

my OH is going to his new post next week but our MQ not ready until end of January. We live in Scotland and posting is down south so extra costs ie travel and food etc is something we could really be doing without this close to christmas does anyone know if he is entitled to anything or can claim anything back.
    Thanks

I think he should be entitled to Get You Home allowance. He best check with his admin peep's. Others may know more! Oh and you may get a seperation allowance to. Not sure, mind very fuzzy due to changing too many nappies. Im sure my OH got it to come home to Glasgow when I was still at home and him in Dooorset.

In my experience, Susiesoo is spot on regarding the Get You Home Allowance. As he's unaccompanied, your OH will be paying the normal mess rates and food bills like the singletons (and the weekly commuters).

I'm a bit fuzzy about the separation allowance, too. Worth getting your OH to check.

    Re: Married Unaccompanied

Get You Home IS the separation allowance. As long as there is more than 50 miles between you then he will get GYH.

He shouldn't pay any accommodation charges but he will have to pay for any food, either a daily food charge or as he eats at Pay as you dine. Unless the allowance is actioned before 11th Dec you won't see that in December pay but you will get it as backpay in January.
