Renting a property to the MOD - Bristol

I've just bought a property to let out basically a stones throw from MOD Abbey Wood, I would ideally like to rent it to the MOD but my lovely OH has rather a lot on at the moment with moving himself to find the right person to ask about how to go about doing this so I thought I would ask the all knowing Rear Party!

I know that Countrywide deal with finding the MOD properties but I have spoken to them and they weren't particularly helpful or knowledgeable so ...

Do I need to fully furnish the property? As in sofas/beds/table and chairs/cutlery/EVERYTHING! Or will they want it empty? (obviously I am going to put in curtains/blinds/dishwasher/washer-dryer/lampshades and there is a built in wardrobe in the master)

It is a 3 bed (2doubles and a single, master ensuite) detached with a garage and parking, does anyone know what rank this would fall under?

Can I rent it directly to the MOD or do I have to put it on Countrywide's books and keep my fingers crossed?

Think that is all for now, thanks for your help!

They gave me the number of the Housing Information hotline, just in case anyone else needs it: 0800 169 6322. They were very helpful

That's good, glad they could help. The number they gave you is the central number for the HICs (Housing Information Centres), I didn't realise they'd help with this kind of query or I'd have given you that number first!

I'd imagine they'd want it empty so if needs be they could fill it with their lovely Army furniture!

Thanks again for your help AFF

And Bodger you are right, they even queried if I wanted to put white goods in - which I will be just in case it doesn't let to the MOD.

Oh and if anyone else is thinking about letting a property to the MOD you do need to register it with Countrywide Lettings Management - although that could be because I am just a civvie!
