    Rather concerned!!!!

    Hiya,

We have been allocated a MQ in waterloo park to move in on the 27th March.

As we were going up that way last weekend we decided to drive upto the house and have a look at the outside and area, the house is empty so we looked through the windows but we are rather shocked as they said its a 3 bed semi detached....

Well its not a semi, its an end of terrace and the downstairs is tiny, much smaller than our two bed were in now in blandford.

I gave them a call today and they assured me its def a 3bed!!! I really cant see how you would be able to fit three beds in!!!

Are we able to get hold of the keys before we move in so we can have a look around the inside or do we have to wait till we take over the property? Do you think that maybe they have made a mistake and theres a cock up with their information on the system? Or mayebthe third room is a cuboard but they are classing it as a 3rd bedroom?

    Thanks, Ellie xxx

Contact the HIVE at the unit, they should have more information on the house's. If all fails get back onto the HIC and ask if they have a floor plan they can send you. Sometimes they have them sometimes they dont..........be creepily nice to them too they like that! Honestly if you are in doubt about the size call them up and ask to verify the details again. They wont be able to let you into the house though due to some 17 days rule they have with MHS and the handover of the keys. They probably wont have they keys back from MHS yet.

How far is Waterloo park from you just now? My mind has gone balnk to where it is. Know Blanford well though as was there last year. You could always go up and chap a neighbours door?

Also for some reason our end of terrace is referrd to as a Semi-Detached, bit strange.
They said it could'nt be done, so I did'nt do it

Oops sorry forgot to say waterloo park is in aldershot!!!

Unfortunatly its a couple of hours from us, altho may be able to go up at the weekend and talk to people if need be.

Also confused as the property is down as a grade 2 but looking through the windows it looks in worse condition that ours in blandford which is down as a grade 4!!!

    Re: Rather concerned!!!!

Our house (near Aldershot) where we lived before was only a 2 bed and it was massive, far bigger than any of the 3 beds where we are now. It was also a grade 2, but wasn't in great condition. This house when we moved was a grade 4 (recently been put up to grade 3), and has brand new kitchen etc. One of the things they take into account is how near to local ammenities you are (shops, buses etc). Being in Aldershot, you are very close to everything, which is probably why it is a higher grade.

    Princess M

I'm wondering whether the Aldershot HIVE can advise - details here:

    Useful stuff here too:

If HIC/MHS can't let you in to have a look around (and it is possible, it just depends what sort of mood they're in or how far away they are) have you tried knocking on a neighbour's door and just asking them whether they have the three bedrooms? If they're friendly enough then they'll let you have a scout around their quarter. I'm always happy for people to do that. A good way to get to know your new neighbours too!

    Hiya!!!

Have spoken to the hive and they were really helpful.

Aparantly all the houses on the road we're moving to are 3 beds!!!

Hive also sent us a welcome pack which is huge!!! Contains every thing that we need to know about aldershot!!! busses, trains, whats in the area, where everythings located, flyers, booklets etc!!

well the house has been accepted so cant really do anything now, and I think that altho smaller dont think it'll be too bad and weve gota bigger garden which means the dogs'll be happy!!!! and the location is ace coz I dont drive!!!

Actually really looking forward to moving now (do you recon that coz Im new to army postings)

Thanks for everybodys help, Ellie xxx
