    Bulford flats

    Hi there,

in the not so distant future we are gonna have to fill in our sfa application form, we have already been warned we will be housed in bulford and most likely in a flat.

my question is how do we prioritise the housing request when we dont know the area? Im hoping there is someone out there that has had to do this before or lives in the area and can tell me what i should put as are first, second and third choice for flats in bulford.
do the flats share internal corridors or do we get are own front door to the outside world.

I know in the end the army decide anyway and what i want is irrelevant and we get what were given. All the same i'd still like to know what the housing is like.

pictures would be brilliant too. i guess the majority of you know how it feels to move and not know where your going and i guess ill get used to it but right now it seems very scary but exciting too.

i've rambled plenty now. look forward to some feedback. thanks

    Hi Cornishlass,

This may help you, not sure if there are any pics, but I am sure if you get in touch with the Hive they will be of some use.

Unit welfare office can usually be helpful too (at current unit and next unit). I've always been lucky enough to be able to take a day to travel to my next duty station and speak with the hive and welfare office at new post to get an idea of where we can ask for and what to expect.

    Re: Bulford flats

    thanks for your quick responses,

i've had a look at the link and i'll talk to the OH about contacting the hive and the welfare officer.

i think last night i was worrying myself a bit to much about the trivial things. at the end of the day as long as were together it doesnt matter were we live.

i've always been in a position to decide where i want to live and work and its just a little scary putting that decision in someone elses hands. I think i should just concentrate on planning the wedding, mind you thats pretty stressfull too!

Im glad theres people like you guys out there to easy my mind. thanks guys.

    Re: Bulford flats

i've read the other threads and spent a few days being very depressed about it all then i decided that all i need is a positive attitude and make the most of it. after all it wont be forever. As long as i can make some friends i'll be okay.
i see you've got a dog, do you know of any agility clubs near by?

    Re: Bulford flats

he is unsure of what unit he is going to be attached to at the mo. He spoke to someone in a similar situation to ourselfs and they have been issued a flat. i do hope we can get a house just for the garden but as long as there is some kind of space for her i'll be happy. thanks for your reply. how did you find bulford? is there much of a social community there?

KP -can you please stop asking people on public forums what regiment their husband is with - giving that kind of information on a public forum could break PERSEC!

Maybe you should delete a few threads that are talking about certain regiments? (Not being funny btw, just saying)
