    MCTC Colchester?

My BF has a court martial coming up. I was very upset when I found out and I know how bad he feels about what happened but there is nothing he can do about it now.

From what he's been told he thinks he will be able to soldier on - which is what he wants as he has always wanted to be in the Army - but is expecting at least a few months in Colchester.

Does anybody know what it is like for the soldiers there? Are they treated OK? He is 20 and has been in Afghanistan but I still worry about him I will obviously visit him when he is there but have no idea what that will be like. Just wondering if anybody knows about it?

He was talking about going for his stripes but I suppose that's not going to happen now. I know he feels like that he has let sown people - especailly his Mum and his brothers - he is the oldest.

I thought that once he was back from Afghanistan things would be easier, but now this

Agree totally with Sloosy. He won't get promoted for a while after and won't get his long service and good conduct medal (not such a big deal) but he can make the most of his time there and come out improved.

Depending on how long he has left he could still get stripes. One of Mr K's mates was in Colly and got his stripes, just a couple of years later than his contemporaries.

you have to be 15 years "crime" free before you can claim your good conduct, or if it was a minor write a letter of "forgiveness"

I think this depends on the crime. Mr Gonzo very very stupidly had a DUI and will never get his LSGC even though he wrote a grovelling letter.

Oh ffs - bloody blank first time!!

We had a mate who did same as Mr G - not a snowball's chance in hell.
Mr Laws thumped somebody when he was young and impetuous - he got it after the grovelling letter.
