Its difficult cos they're not allowed so much stuff - it seems harsh but it's to get them used to being away without creature comforts.
How about sending some IOUs? Could be for serious/normal stuff like DVDs or breakfast in bed. Or it could be "IOU a week without running a mile and a half".
Gets round the problem of him not being allowed much and will probably perk him up and make him laugh.

You can get some IOU's from amazon (naughty ones included!) or just write them in letters... Write an IOU on A4 laminate it and then cut it all up and he can piece the IOU jigsaw back together (you can tell I have far too much time on my hands!)
not sure what's allowed / not allowed in training.... how about a pair of your underwear / stockings etc with a hint of perfume etc on them...(though may get a name as a crossdresser I suppose!)
I recently sent mine the Edward Monkton Love Story book and he loved that as it said it all but in a lovely non soppy way!

Depends on the integrity of your man...

Personally, at HMS Raleigh, I've no idea what happens at mail time, mines on a ship and that means all the valentine stuff had to be sent over a week ago, based on when they are likely to get mail drops, even now, I have a feeling he will not get it in time... ... darn it!

If you think as a bonding "thing" he's likely to share then do an IOU .... and let him fill it in maybe?

It's private - they will open packages to stick the probe in and make sure there's nothing suspicious but they won't read things x
