    UKBC - Dependant - Germany

Hi.Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place but i need some clarification on the following matter if anyone can help:I am working as a UKBC and my partner (married), is obviously my dependant. Now my partner has a job on the German net and pays all the usual German taxes etc.Everything seemed fined until i read somewhere that if your partner has a job on the German net then my partner may not be (or will lose) his dependant status and all the benefits that come with it?!Can anyone confirm this or know anything about this?!What should we do keep schtum? Thanks for any help.

don't know if it changed much since we left , but i was better off on the german net then being a dependant. we had our car insurd over my name too...cheaper insurance and tax...i could choose what doctor i wanted to go to and was treated quicker......otherwise i was still treated as an dependant, still got me money to visit family in england when he went on tour and so on.........and had a rationcard

find someone who has a german wife who is still on the krautnet...

As a UKBC and my partner being a dependant we are both entitled to a Tax free car and fuel coupons which is good and very helpful. We have already bought a small car on my partners name and we are looking to buy another one in my name as the main family car. We need two cars due to my partners work.As for the ration card only I have one and my partner does not.In regards to health insurance, I am on (and use) my partners health insurance on the German net as has been mentioned on here the health service is is way better. So basically without trying to repeat myself and confuse thigs (sorry), my partner is fully on the german net and also as my dependant due to me being a UKBC.I am not registered with the german authorities but my partner is. On paper you could say I live in england and my partner in germany and we have a long distance relationship (in case the german authorities ask), when in virtual fact we live together. So after reading a broschure on the net "so you have been posted to Germany, March 2010 edition", in the employment section it states that as a dependant you can seek employment on the german net but may lose your dependant status, which we don#t want!?No one has mentioned anything and I have been working as a UKBC since August 2011 and my partner has had a job on the German net since March last year.Should we just keep schtum and carry on?Also on a side topic the tax free car (cars) will be BFG'd which will allow us to get fuel coupons, but who do we pay road tax to the german or english?Apologies for such a long and probably confusing post. Many thanks again.
