What to get the man who has everything?

As the title says - what do I get him?! Did Kindle on the birthday, and when I ask all I get is 'I have everything I need and want' (lovely and sickening but oh not so helpful) I have managed to buy 'nothing' from firebox as a joke, but now with time running out I need to buy 'something'....aggghh!!!

I would say getting him nothing would teach him a lesson, but I think it would teach him the wrong kind of lesson! Oh well, makes the shopping loads easier! Win win!

Ooh, good call Regan. I would say Meccano.

Ouh yes! Lego!!! On my way to uni everyday I see this 1ft tall lego man in someones window made out of lego. I keep telling myself, I'll go knock on their door and ask to take a picture of it so the OH can make his own. Its fabby it really easy and lego is so awesome! I can still play with it for hours, thankfully I have a niece and nephew for an excuse

I missed the days when my ickle boy was.......well ickle.

Christmas morning when he got up at silly Oclock jumping around all excited, charging downstairs to see if Santa had been, leaving his footprints on the rug

Sitting on said rug, with a mug of coffee, building stuff/games/lego

So last year I asked my OH for a lego set............she got me an imitation lego. Not quite as good, but I still sat on the rug building it, whilst my son was upstairs playing on his new PS3 game.

This year..........He's away in the sandpit.

    Not gonna be the same...........

OH agrees with Regan - lego/meccano, that sort of thing. Especially if you get him the super-duper lego that either wasn't around when he was younger or that was too expensive for most families to buy.

They make a lot of Lego now for grown-ups. You can't tell me that stuff like this:
    LEGO.com Star Wars Products - Exclusives - 10221
    is for kids!

Yeah but these days Lego tends to be sold in packs that make one object. What happened to the boxes of just Lego bricks that you could make your own things with? No creativity these modern tykes

Can you tell I'm just itching for DS to be old enough to play with it? He's getting Lego Duplo for Xmas but it's not the same lol.

I know. Give him an IOU for a shed.

Every bloke wants a shed, indeed needs a shed. And on you're settled down in house and home, maybe even after he's served his time and is settling into civvy street, you can remind him that once upon a time he thought he had everything and you promised him a shed. And now he has a place for all the things he has, and a little place he calls his own.

    He'll love you forever!

I sent my OH a lego technics motorbike for Christmas, he wsa naughty and opened it early, all the other lads were jealous and said they didnt get cool presents like that!! Men never grow up!

My sisters OH is difficult to buy for, he told my sister as long as she is happy, he is happy. I told her she should buy herself something she really wants and wrap it up for him and when he opens it tell him that she is really happy so he should be too! Then maybe next year he'll be a bit more helpful with present suggestions!

I spent £55 on a Lego Truck/Rig for my son.........................3 months before he was born. Wife went daft as we were just in our first house and skint.

Took me 4 chuffing hours to make...........Well, I had to check to make sure nothing was missing.

It got taken apart, eventually, and ended up in the loft, until last year, when my son found it. Took him 4 hours as well. lol. He was only just 17 then.

Blokes may look older on the outside..............but are still big kids on the inside, and love nothing more than acting it.

    Or is that JUST me????

I reckon it's all men. Just got a Wii and the 1st games both my 6 yr old and my 28 yr old husband wanted were the lego ones. Big Tree asked Santa for lego and Mr Tree asked me for lego technik1
