    Social Care Provision Query

Hi all! I'm working on an essay for my social work module, and I'm wondering: can anybody point me towards any recent reports about the current support provided for armed forces personnel and families (i.e. AWS, NPFS, SSAFA)? Any official reports saying what's working, what's not, how it can improve, etc. Also, I'm looking for anything officially released rather than forum chatter. Can anyone help on this one? I've been banging my head against the wall. Most helpful answer gets a cookie!
You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dextrous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.

Hi Bakes, have you had a look at the Joseph Rountree Foundation site? I am pretty sure there was a report there (not sure how recent) about provision on support when leaving the forces??

Sorry I cant be more specific it was a while ago that I looked.

Also have a look at English Churches Housing Group, ECHG- they are providing supported accomodation for single services leavers at two sites now

Thanks Dizzy. Those are helpful, especially the Joseph Rountree one. Any idea about support for active servicepeople?

I think that the RAF Families Federation have just done a report into service life for RAF personnel and their families, you could try their website. I not good at doing links so just put RAF Families Federation into Google and it should come up.

www.mod.gov.uk site should help with links, and there are a few on the front of Patch Pedia that might provide a few ideas. I bet the AFF (links are all on PP too) could prove useful.

Even contacting the Welfare offices - via MoD site - could assist you. I know the MoD media services are great at handing out information!

On the RN side, there's the Royal Navy Community Web site and the Naval Families Federation at the NFF Home Page

The NFF are particuarly good and I'm sure you could email them if you need something specific.
