Starting as we mean to go on

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who gave their support to me last week. I am most grateful and it really meant a lot to me.

Yesterday was one of the most emotional days I have ever experienced, but I would like to think that I played my part pretty well, kept really positive and didn't get all emotional in front of the other half, just told her I loved her and that she'd be great, big hug and off we went (plus I got to meet a Colonel, how cool was that!)

I hope everyone else who saw off loved ones yesterday is okay and if anyone wants to chat about anything PM or something.

Now I am going to smash the granny out the next five weeks, bring it on!

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again for your help and support

    All the best

    Sebastian

My Chap is back in 2 weeks for a weekend. I cant wait. I thought I wasn't going to see him for a full 7 weeks. I'm bouncing off the walls at the moment.

Little surprises like that make a huge difference.

    Hi Charliefive,

that is an expression one of my work mates uses, I think that it means something like to do a good job.

I just use it because it sounds cool

    Cheers

Well done Sebastian, it was a strange day huh?

I think I played my part ok, I didn't actually cry infront of the OH but did sob all the way home.

OH seems to think that he will have his phone back every night so I can look forward to some very brief conversations. I got a text at 1.38am saying that he was just going to bed and had to be up in 4 hours...

It'll be a tough 5 weeks but we'll get through it

Thanks Charlotte, I agree it was a tough day.

Well done to you for being so supportive, I hope everything goes well for you and the OH and that the five weeks brings you closer. Have you got lots of stuff lined up to keep you busy?

Despite the emotion I didn't manage to cry yesterday, I wanted to when it was all over and I was on the way home, but I didn't. I guess I tried so hard not to at the time I'd welded my tear ducts shut!

I too got a text at about 01:00 when I'd been in bed for about 4 hours too!

They'll be alright, having the time of their lives I bet!

I didnt go yesterday - i was too worried that i couldn't hold it together - plus her dad is unaware that his darling daughter had a lesbian lover and didnt think yesterday was the right time to tell him...

But i got a full update from OH's mother, and had a productive day in the library instead.

The goodbyes on Saturday were emotional though, but since i have been ok. No tears as yet!!

And it's only 31 sleeps til they're back now.... which is nothing! (So i keep telling myself!) Lucky you getting a text though Char - i havent heard anything as yet... Hoping that her S/Sergeant is human enough to let them have their phones at somepoint!

Keep busy, and keep your chins up guys!

Re: Starting as we mean to go on

I get nightly text's (I have to wait up until gone midnight for them though, and then he only manages 1 or 2 before he passes out!) and every couple of days I get a call. Only 2-3 min phone calls though. Saturday was a good day, he had the day off from 1pm and I could call him whenever I liked.

He is sometimes naughty and texts me when he shouldn't be. I hope he doesnt' get in trouble for it. It wont just be a slapped wrist!!

My goodbye last Monday was horrible. I couldn't go with him so I just goodbye at my house. I didn't want to let go of him. He got upset but I managed to hold it together until he'd left. We're both missing each other like mad and cant wait until August when he gets 3 full weeks off.

It's a complicated system of ropes, pulleys and levers but I'm assured that there is a way out...........nah, f**k it, I'm staying in the gutter!
