Thread: What the.....?

Went over to see the folks for Christmas with Mr Doris. It's funny, I go over every few months but surprisingly something always seems drastically different every time I go.


I have now noticed there seems to be a big wheel and what looks like a giant tit in the middle of Belfast. As I only saw this on the M3 on the way to the docks from Bangor, I didn't quite know what they were until I looked it up.

The big wheel is the Belfast Aye something akin to the London Eye. The dome is that belonging to the Victoria Centre which is finally going to be finished. They seemed to have just the foundations there for ages.

This got me thinking. Belfast now has and Eye; a dome; a fledgling tourist industry; exclusive areas to live ( apparently the flats in that new centre sold out within 24 hrs ) , a new ikea for goodness sake and all glass fronted building etc to demonstate how 'peaceful' it is. I heard on the news recently that Gordon Brown was going to start fortifying buildings to make them bomb proof against terrorist attacks.

Made me chuckle as it seems Belfast is turning into London and London is turning into Belfast :?

But Belfast hasn't got pie and mash shops :lol:

....but we have got red, white and blue kerb stones! Or if you prefer orange, white and green!!

It's all "normal" and we can go everywhere with no restrictions at all!! :roll:

Keep telling yourself that Boots, it will come true....hmmm!

And not to mention Millies as opposed to Chavs...

and how the house prices in n. ireland are ricdiculous and they are trying to match the ones in London etc - even though the wages are no where in comparison - sorry rant over!!!
