    Re: Ikea

    Bloomin' typical.

No sooner have I left the emerald toilet, than they finally decide to build an Ikea. They've been talking about this for years and are now finally sorting it out.

It's annoying for me. I like Ikea. It's cheep and cheerful and can actually look really nice in the home. The nearest one to me now is about an hours drive away at lakeside near London. The one in NI would be about 10 mins up the road from where I used to live.

oh gawd. I know what you mean about the export malarchy. Having bought my car in England ( part of the UK - obviously) I moved back to NI (part of the UK ) and had to re-register my car as an export.

Now I have moved back to the mainland I must re-register my car again. Now, I don't know if they will take it as the date the car came back to the mainland or from the original date I bought it. The car insurance companies seem to have the original details when I organised my new insurance for over here ( at a thrid of the price I might add). I've owned the car from new so I have no idea what all this extra paper work is for. I wait with baited breath for my Log-piece-of-paper ( I refuse to call it a log book as it not anything remotely like a book)

    Re: Ikea

Snap Iris Doris..... paperwork, paperwork. When we moved to Belgium, we were fine with registering the Zafira but come round to do the Polo - we couldn't because it was in my name so had to change it to his so that was done (we had to get it within 3 months) but coming back, we had changed cars as we got tax free one 8 months before departure and I went to DVLA in Leeds to get this done and was told it could be 2 hours to do the work but it went swiftly in 20 mins! As this car had already been registered in the UK before so it should be fine and we registered the polo when hubby came back few months later and this was fine too as this polo was ours from new.

so if it has been registered in the UK prior to moving overseas it should be okay as long nothing has been changed (modified) etc.

    Re: Ikea

I have no idea what happens over here! All I know is that because hubby has a GB driving licence it'll cost £50 to sort. Tax runs out tomorrow but can't get new one as no registration documentation!!!
    I couldn't care less as I'm a non-driver, but a good passenger.

Thank gawd he has a Staff car to use!

think Ill start a thread on this......

    Re: Ikea

    hahahahahahahahahahaha........sorry!

We are on a "stand alone" with regard to this. No Welfare , Hive aimed at assisting youngsters, not old and bold like my hubby! not too worry his problem he'll sort it....

It's an exciting time for HM Forces over here with normalisation beginning on Wednesday...

    Re: Ikea

Child benefit was easy, call Newcastle to update them on your new NI address they do the rest.
Car registration was a real pain int backside. DVLA NI will advise but they are sooooo sllllooooowwwww.
