Hubby deployed? Go shopping with your MIL!

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, joins Queen and Camilla at Fortnum & Mason | Mail Online

Not sure we'd make it to Fortnum but we'd certainly hit Glasgow should my OH end up away again.

Just made me smile, that's all.

i wouldn't go near my MiL with a bargepole without him.
just the thought of going shopping with her wants to make hollow out me eyes with a rusty spoon

I wonder if we share a MIL and just don't know it.

I think I may share her too. Although tbh OH can't stand her either so there's more chance of me actually shopping with the Queen.

Whilst I don't dislike my mother in law at all, i really can't imagine a shopping trip with her. To be honest I struggle to image her going shopping at all, although she must 'cos she comes up with some of the most imaginative prezzies come birthdays and Xmas.

oh girls!!! I am actually very lucky, my MIL is great, however, I am a 'southerner' so slightly different!- mmm shopping wouldn't be that fun, i get enough grief for being a ex banker, and having a penchant for expensive things!

However, I would like to go shopping with Kate and her MIL, can you imagine the freebies and discounts.... must have some perks!

I dont think i'd want to go shopping with the MIL either! Visiting is bad enough when she has pictures around of my OH's ex girlfriend!
I wish I had a lovely MIL! :/ Even the queen would do not being picky or anything .

My MIL and her mate came to stay for a long weekend last time Mr K went away. Long being the operative word.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here.

My MIL really is a second mother to me and I love shopping with her. She's extra great when the OH is gone because she tells me lovely stories about him when he was younger and it's about the next best thing to having him home.

I've got 2 "sort of" ones both very different, but also, both alike in some ways - yet to go shopping (alone) with either, but been out with both of them in a group (not at the same time - that would be like setting off some fireworks in an explosive factory...
Nothing to see here, move on by....

My MIL (or not quite as 1. not married and 2. a step mum just like the pantos!) would never go shopping with me, or make a cup of tea for me, or piss on me if I were on fire. Not because I am not a lovely person (in fact she has said she thinks I am nice) but because she really doesnt like Mr D. She only ever tells me how horrible he was when he lived at home and she calls me by his exs name. Personally if I did go shopping with her I would take her to Primark as she is a bit posh and has never worked a day in her life and it would be a whole new experience for her! hehehehehe

I would rather bury my MiL. Not seen her for over 2 years and the last conversation lasted all of 30 seconds
