Thread: The Nimbys of Ashtead - SSAFA WIN!

Today is the first big battle.

(insert rousing speech a la Henry V)

At 18:00 hrs this evening the first supporters of the SSAFA proposal should be arriving at MVDC Council offices ready for the meeting to commence at 19:00.


Among the supporters will be folk, serving and retired from all 3 services and a wide array of websites, including RP.


If all goes well, the Planning Department will approve the proposal, there will be no appeal from the NIMBYs and SSAFA can then complete plans to purchase 36 Grays Lane and start the conversion work.


If you keep your eye on the media today, there may be a few more stories in the press.

so far loads of councillors speaking in favour of unconditional permission being granted,some want a 2 year permission,but so far i think its going in our favour Liz

my phone rang and now I cant get onto arrse. Everyone that I had on MSN that was at the meeting instantly went offline and heading to the pub.

I wish I was there. I am in floods.

Watched all of the webcast and dealt with ARRSE crashing very quickly.
