    Colour preference

When it comes to a bit of lingerie is there is colour that you prefer? Does it vary dependant on outfit/occasion/partner's preference?

I'm having a bit of a time trying to work out what to buy, the main one I want is only available in red and I want the black so wondering whether or not to wait.

I tend to wear black and white on a daily basis so try to avoid those for the 'special time' stuff. The last lot i bought were indigo and though they're great they don't make me feel sexy. I'm a fan of red but I think it depends what works for you. different skin tones work better with different colours and most people have a 'confidence colour' that they always feel good in.

Sparkly white or black for me. But for the weekend I break out the polka dots for daytime!

Am loving the jewel colours around at the mo. Besties are red with twinkles from Rigby and Pellor.

Black is my everyday colour but it's also the colour OH prefers. I just tend to wear posher/sheerer/lacier things for special occasions. Most important thing is that you wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. You could wear the sexiest lingerie in the world but if you feel like a plank and keep having to rectify a wedgie/double boob situation, it kind of ruins things a bit

I'm pretty pale and prefer the way that black looks on my skin, the red version just doesn't seem right to me but the black is out of stock for some reason currently feeling the need to buy stuff to help me feel sexy - not that I have anyone to wear them for but hey, part of me is wondering if its actually worth it.

If black is your preference then hang fire til the one that works for you is available.

It is definitely worth it. someone once told me the crapper you feel the better you should dress and always work from bottom to top. There's something about being dressed in your casual stuff but having the sexiest underwear underneath that just makes you feel a bit naughty and I've always found that makes me feel pretty good.

When you feel your least sexy the temptation is to just sort of think 'oh why am i bothering' but that will just make you feel worse. Force yourself to make the effort and after a while it won't be an effort anymore and you'l look in the mirror and just know you are a foxy lady anyway.

TL I am pretty pale too so I understand feeling washed out by the red. I have found a navy blue or deep purple are good.
I spend a fortune on decent underwear!!

Agree with S-T totally, you do feel so much with nice undies on, even just matching!- doesn't have to be expensive either, something that is comfy and fits well!

Me, personally, I am a fan of quite vivid colours, black and simple white is lovely, but i do have a few polka dot sets and even have a pink and orange set (sounds horrible, but is actually quite cool) I don't have any red actually, might get some for Mr P in 10 days time!- mind you, after being out there for so long, he wouldn't care if i was wearing the greying sports bra and my period pants! ha ha ha

All women should also buy sets for themselves, not just for their otherhalves, as said previously, if you dress sexily, you will feel sexy!

Fair enough, although to be honest it is fun thinking about wearing the set in question under kit to work one day, could be interesting....

I personally tend to go with colours that really suit me, which has the double bonus of meaning any glimpse of bra strap usually matches my top. So turquiose, jade, green, blue. I actually look hideous in black, white, and red and don't even own anything in any of these colours.

I reakon you have to look much better in underwear that suits your skin-tone, rather than a colour which is supposed to be sexy, but the model has to wear a trowel's worth of make-up to look anything like in it. I'd go look in your wardrobe and look for the colours you wear most (you may of course be one of the lucky minority that look geniuely stunning in black) though if you only wear black cos you are colour shy, underwear might be a good way of branching out colour-wise....

I'd get the red. Black is boring! Happy shopping )
So far today I've done alright. I haven't gossiped, I haven't lost my temper, I haven't been greedy, grumpy or very indulgent. But in a few minutes, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on, I'm going to need a lot more help.

I wear blue, black, grey and then theres the green uniform, not really a colourful person, don't like to draw attention to myself and not really a girly girl, need to learn I think.

Wear it for yourself, no one else! have something funky and risque underneath.......it is underwear, hopefully all and sundry aren't going to see it, and if they are so lucky, then have something cool and different that makes you feel like a saucy sexy kitten!- if no one sees it, you can still feel confident for yourself, which is the most important thing!

God, I just realised I haven't bought myself any decent underwear since I had my daughter. I really need some decent stuff too. Anyway meandering off topic, sorry T_L.

My fave colour is red, but I am quite fiery! If black is your thing get black. You are the one that has to feel comfortable and happy wearing it.

Black, White and Nude I find quite dull. Saying that I could do with a complete clothes makeover too. Damnit moving back to UK is going to be sooooooooooooooooooo expensive for my husband.

I like black, white, cream, pink, purple..........have a drawer full of lingerie!!!! (and no bloke so definitely it is all for me). My favourite is a pink and orange set from Elle Macpherson - sadly it's slightly faded now. I'm not keen on red - not sure why though.I'd definitely wait for the black set T-L - you'll feel better in a colour you are comfortable in.

oh and Gonzo - move somewhere near a TKMaxx (and go shopping in the sales in Debenhams and House of Fraser for some good bargains - and I sometimes go to "Dress Agencies" (posh second hand shops - there's a nice one in Winchester up the hill from the Court towards the barracks) or use e-bay if you know the make so you know their sizes fit you - new stuff doean't have to be expensive
