Ah, the ring... sadly, the pregnancy seems to have expanded my finger permanently so I can't even wear it at the moment, but that's another story...

As for where it came from... hubby proposed with a piece of iron pyrite (aka fool's gold) that he picked up in the Canadian Rockies while on exercise there. I've never liked modern designs and I've always had a thing for marcasite jewellery, which made the pyrite particularly appropriate. So then I set about finding a jeweller who could custom make something incorporating marcasites cut from said pyrite. Found a bloke in Somerset who specialises in antique reproductions who was able to cut the marcasites and follow instructions... Sent him some pictures I found online of antique marcasite rings, for inspiration, and he drew me some designs until Miss Fussy was finally happy... I specifically asked for the cutouts since I'd seen similar on one of the pics I sent him, and they reminded me of cathedral windows.

That ring is really unusual, what is the pattern? and where if I may ask did you get it? x
