We went for a hol near Aberystwyth recently, and saw what I think were a couple of Typhoons flying over where we stayed, which was brilliantI love fighter jets and going to air shows, and it was like having our own private little air show lol.
We asked around if anyone knew of any air bases nearby but no one was sure - anyone here know?

Wales contains one of the Tactical Low Flying Areas which means that jets can go really low! For this reason they come from all over the UK to use it. Given the airspeed of a Typhoon they could have come from any of the bases....
Ooooh, thanks! I remember when we drove to Scotland once and a jet flew so low over our heads, it was loud as buggery but before you realised, it was long gone lol
We used to live at Valley and i can remember dad driving us along the A5 Llanberis Pass on day, we heard the jets coming in and looked up for them....then they flew past at eye level!! Fecking awesome
Just been back to Snowdonia camping for a week and took the kids over to Anglesey. There's a place called Suicide Rock at the northern end of the runway at RAF Valley where you can plane watch, i kid you not the apron is 40 yards away. We sat and watched them doing bumps and circuits for about 2 hours. My eldest lad has wanted to be a pilot since he was tiny, doesn't care which arm he joins, just wants to do it...he was absolutely ecstatic bless him!!

Fally, if you like air shows Biggin Hill's the place for you! Air show all weekend and practice the entire week before right over your head. They're not allowed to do the stunts over the crowds so they do it over the quartering patch instead. We're obviously dispensable!
Those Typhoons are buggers, set all the car alarms off because of the vibration and deafens you in the process!
We used to go on holidays to Wales when I was little, and once a jet (some sort of fast thing, no idea what it was!) flew so low over us that the pilot waved at us, and I don't mean dipped his wings, he actually waved. I always remember that!
Used to live near Farnborough airport which was great when the air show was on.
I love planes...just never been in one!

We are based with the Reds, thats quite cool too, I like to think they do a personal performance for me most days lol!!
