    Resolutions 2012

As another year comes staggering to a halt, thoughts turn to the prospects and wishes for 2012.

Here's mine as a starter for ten:

Use EBay. I've never done it, and there's enough junk lying around the house, someone's bound to buy it.

Go for Chartered Practitioner status in my profession. Stuff 'em, why not?

Turn off the auto spell check for good. If I can't spell, that's my fault and I don't need a machine thinking for me.

Be a good mum and not swear in front of Rosebud. It's going to be tough, but I can't have our little one picking up matelow language. Not yet anyway.

    Um....

Cut down on my biggest weakness... chocolate

Up my running distance to 10km at least one a week (or even get back into it, not run for a month now!)

Get my tax return done before the last day of the month!

Remember everyone's birthday, before the actual day!
Nothing to see here, move on by....

Allow my body the full time it needs to recover from this surgery, and not rush myself into permanent cripple-hood.

Once I am recovered, get myself back to the gym, finish losing this last stone, and become strong.

See Europe while we have the good fortune to be stationed there.

Never forget, not for one moment of one day, how blessed I am, and to remember to be grateful for it.

    To get fit again.
    To gain two more qualifications.

Big year for me as I have new job, Mr Laws leaves the Army but still be abroad, moving house and the Olympics to police.
My 2012 resolution is to "keep calm and carry on - and not to end up in a dark corner rocking and sucking my thumb!!!"

Run a half marathon, and join a running club.
Get my career started. (Figure out whether the army is the best choice for me career wise, or whether it's just the fact that I want to do it that's telling me that it's right for my goals. If it's not then start auditioning for orchestras wherever they are in the world)
Learn what a healthy diet is, rather than cycling between near enough fasting and binging. IE, find a healthy diet and stick to it!
Get at least my grade 5 on piano.

I don't do resolutions, I don't like setting myself up to fail!

However my 'things to remember in 2012' are

1: Having two children has changed my body shape beyond repair. No I am not a size 6 anymore but nor am I a house. Pining for something I can never be again just makes me miserable so its time to accept my figure as it is post children.

    2. Changing for anyone is another thing that will never make me happy. It will make me feel like I am being dishonest with myself. No matter how lonely it gets at the new posting I will not be becoming something else simply to fit a mould. Not everyone in the world is going to like everyone else so the most important thing is to be a person i like and am happy to be.

    3. Doing good things for other people ultimately makes me feel good so I intend on finding a charity to work with.

And what about the other 365 days, 23 hours and 55mins? It's a leap year, after all...
