    Really BAD customer service

Have an ongoing battle at the moment with Thomson about something that, frankly, they should have sorted out several weeks ago.

Won't go into detail but let's just say that their response was 'we have honoured our contract so we won't refund the £30 that you paid for the select your seat service'. (I paid to 'select my seat' and apparently this £30 wasn't to actually select my seat. It was to guarantee a seat next to my boyfriend on the plane).

Yes, Thomson think I should pay for the privilege of sitting next to the person that I booked my £1,400 holiday with. Needless to say, I couldn't chose where I sat but because I sat next to him, they won't refund me.

I have sent them a snotmail today like you wouldn't believe.

What companies have given you really bad service lately?

Newlook, I was quite suprised actually.

I'm going on holiday In Jan when the boyfriend gets back and has his winter leave, so with the sales only having size 6-10 in every single bikini, I was like crap, I'm not going to have anything to go on holiday with asin summery clothes (shorts, vests ect) as no where seems to sell winter holiday stuff In the shops, which I personally think they should as there more popular now. But anyway I got to till with £50 worth of other stuff not for summer, I just asked nicely, If they have a section on their website that still sells bikinis ect through out the year since the sale didn't have anything in my size. She replied "I don't know If you had bothered to come to the sales when other people your size did you'd have found something and not be one of the ones that moans that theres nothing In their size In sale"

The rest of the transaction was pretty quiet and she didn't get a thanks as I left the shop.

    Tosser.

my gripe was British Gas - I once phoned because I wasn't sure how to read the meter- had only just bought the flat I guess - and the man said " can't you get your husband to do it?" - I was so gobsmacked I didn't say anything. Imagine if I was a recent widow? How can anyone trained in call handling come out with a remark like that?????????

    Re: Really BAD customer service

    Funnily enough - Thomsons!

At Christmas we were unlucky enough to be hit by the snow closing down the airports in Manchester. This wasnt a problem - act of God etc - but we were delayed over 24 hours - we were told at 3pm flight not unitl next day - over the tannoy - sit tight we will advise on transport and hotel accomodation overnight. OH and l were like - ok fine we are on holiday we have been delayed until next lets have a couple of drinks. 3 hours later another tannoy announcement - oh sorry no accomodation or transport your new flight is tomorrow at 10am.

There was no information, no staff available to field questions on what we were entitled to - nothing, we were left to our own devices. Due to their mis-information we had had a few drinkies meaning not fit to drive. Luckily family friends were able to help us.

Once we got to Egypt - my bag went missing (out of a 7 day holiday reduced to 6 it turned up on day 5!) - information was again lacking - l had to chase and chase and chase. Again - poor comms and every time l rang the their local office l got a different person who didnt know the case and l hd to explain each and every time.

For us to lodge a complaint to get the rep to turn up was a nightmare - not that l actually thought this would make a difference but rather so that we were seen to follow all proper proceedure.

Our hotel had cancelled our room as we were delayed 24 hours and the travel company had failed to advise them - we were left to sort this out ourselves as the rep decided it was past her bedtime and went home!

We were out diving everyday so early starts - the hotel thought it was a great idea to start knocking down walls (as it sounded like) in the shops beneath us at midnight 2 nights in a row. After complaining constantly - it does kinda wear you down - we felt that we were continuously moaning.

After writing numerous lengthy letters to their customer service director we were offered £70 goodwill gesture. For the additional food/hotel/clothes/transport costs our travel insurance - Thomsons basically washed their hands off it all. As for an apology - it didnt happen - they worded letters so that they were not apologising.

We never usually book package trips but it was a last minute thing, OH was just back off tour and l wasnt booking anything until he got home and we had been sooo looking forward to the time together, diving, chilling out which did happen (l just happened to have no clothes and they were not very plentiful in Sharm!) but it was no thanks to Thomson! We would never ever book or take a trip with them again.

    Re: Really BAD customer service

Ohhhhh...me please! Must be something about Egypt. Coming back from said place January 09 (I am a woman and therefore hold a grudge for some time) when it was discovered the UK was still liable to snow storms. It turns out that one hour from Gatwick we wouldnt be able to land due to snow and the M25 had been closed. Surrey was at a standstill. So, off we go to Luton - except no one had told Luton!!!! No buses, no baggage handlers, no baggage, no staff (it was 11pm) no tour rep, no nothing. After leading what can only be described as a mini revolt I ordered several cabs for those who wanted to move that night (we had work the next day) for any brave taxi driver willing to make the journey, managed to locate bags (dont even ask where they were!) and off we trotted into the abyss. Now what happened to those people who chose to stay behind I have no idea but they certainly were not getting home that night.

MONACH, yes you you feckers, are top of my worst customer service. Long story but were not interested in the slightest. FFS it wasnt like it had just started snowing and no one knew!

What is it about our country - slightess bit of snow and the whole place comes to a stand still???

Travel companies (and many many others) dont have the slightest clue about making contigency plans and forward planning or even down the basically easy notion of giving their customers information. Might not be what you want or need to hear but at least you are armed with the details to make an informed decision.

    H&M.

Assistant called my friends 8 year old daughter FAT to her face when she couldn't fit into skinny jeans for her age.

The manager said the size was standard, so we bought them and took them to M&S to compare. They sized up at an age 5!

Wrote to head office to be told they actually use the Scandinavian stats for their childrens sizing. So our short British kids are being told they're fat!

Thanks H&M the now 9 year old has been hospitalised twice now due to dramatic purging.

And the W*nkers of the Week Aware goes toooooo...................

    Re: Really BAD customer service

Bloody hell that despicable beebs i seriously hope H&M provided a proper apology on behalf of their assistant and she was properly disciplined for her big mouth.

Most recently would probably be go outdoors. A new store opened down the road from us and hubby went all action man on me and just had to go look around. Decided while we were there to buy a magnifying glass. So there we were browsing the store whilst looknig round for the glass when we both started to notice this presence behind us. So we did a little experiment and walked slowly doubling back on ourselves (all still perfectly natural for a broswer in a brand new shop) and sure enough we had a security guard tracking our every move and not in a hmm i'll keep an eye on that manner more a we'll make it obvious and make them feel like shoplifters kinda way.
Finally found the right aisle for the magnifying glasses so asked an assistant if they had any as there were none on display. We then had to wait a few minutes whilst he went and got some. During that time the security guard didnt leave my side. Eventually purchased the glass and made a complaint about the guy. My hubby wrote on the 'how were we' board they had up the security guard read it and laughed.
That was me on my high horse. Rang the manager as soon as we got home (i couldnt do it while we were there the baby was screaming to be fed) and told her that whilst i fully understand that its a security guards job to be cautious and keep an eye on people it is surely not his job to mkae innocent people feel totally uncomfortable and silently accused. Pointed out that my hubby was in the army and both he and his friends would probably solely keep their new store in profit but we would not be recommending them if they didnt get their staff in check.
Turned out the managers fiance was a squadie as well so she knew exactly where i was coming from. The security staff weren't employed by them and despite only being open for a week they were already on their 3rd security company as they were having problems with all of them!

Funnily enough, I've been slagging them off on my Facebook wall too, and two of my friends have also had problems with them...

    One of them says:

"We booked the premium cabin when we went. When we checked in, we got a load of balls about a fault with plane and the one they swapped it for didn't have the premium cabin-and suprise on the way back same excuse-took me 4 months to get the £400 back! I phoned/emailed/wrote over 20 times-they eventually said they don't actually have the premium cabin on that flight as its not classed as long haul as its under 6 hours. Guess what? A year later they were still selling it!"

I can't believe companies can get away with things like that!!!!

I'm always hearing bad things about Thompson but put It just down to trainging staff ect, I'm pretty forgiving. But It's reallly just not what you expect from such a well known company.

    Oh Crap!

OH & I have our dream holiday booked with Thompson over this coming Christmas and New Year (nearly £7000 worth... something to look forward to when she comes back from her sandy tour!)... nothing had better go wrong or they will seriously regret it!

I read the same thing about Thomas Cook and their premium cabins when we booked our honeymoon earlier this year, had a bit of drama with them because they send out the same pack whether you're premium or none premium so we being sent reminders to book our seats for an extra £30 each or whatever it was - well you're supposed to get that free with the upgrade! Turns out we did it just didn't differentiate.

However, they delivered faultlessly and I was really surprised as I'd heard some horror stories but couldn't complain about anything - not even the food!
Not quite a newby but not quite there yet either, just settling in to my first patch in Germany.

Letting agents! All of 'em! The ones who manage the flat I've just moved into didn't bother to tell me that a)the electricity is on a keycard meter and b) said meter is in a cupboard 10ft up on the wall which can only be accessed via a stepladder (which I don't have). I found this out last night when the power went off. Then spoke to one of the neighbours who informs me that contrary to what the agents told me there are no pets allowed in the building. I have two cats. Snotogram has been sent and I await their reply with interest. Cnuts!
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here.

Try figleaves.com they do swimwear all year round (and pretty undies too). If your bra cup-size is D or above then you could also try Bravissimo.com!

I love Figleaves and Bravissimo, but you do pay more, I had to pay £32 just for a bikini top...also La Senza now go up to GG cup woo!!!

    Anyway...

B Fooking T. I upgraded my broadband package to unlimited, then got my last bill which had charges on for usage over my allowance, so called them up and asked why my monthly charge was higher but I was still being charged for excess usage.

'Wendy from Mumbai' couldn't answer my query because she couldn't understand my post code to even get my account details, I don't give a flying flip flop where my calls are answered or who answers them, but I do think its not out of order to expect the people answering the phone to be able to understand me and visa versa.

After apologising that I couldn't understand what she was saying she said she would put me through to someone else and promptly cut me off :x

Ooooh BT really grip my sh*t! They did similar to us but with the call package not internet. i was supposed to have unlimited calls but was still charged for every individual call i made. You're lucky you even made it through to 'Wendy' I always had to get put through to the sales line just to get to speak to an actual person cos of their damn automated menu!! And i am not usually bothered where my calls are answered either but theres just something a little hypocritical about BRITISH telecoms call centes being based in India!
