She replied "I don't know If you had bothered to come to the sales when other people your size did you'd have found something and not be one of the ones that moans that theres nothing In their size In sale"

The rest of the transaction was pretty quiet and she didn't get a thanks as I left the shop.

We absolutely couldn't fault the holiday itself in anyway. I complained about a £30 bit of it (we thought this would enable us to choose our seats on the aircraft) more on the off chance really - I wasn't happy with it but the holiday itself was so amazing I probably wouldn't have got too arsey about it.

But the way that they answered my initial email (and the length of time it took) made me blow my stack and now I'm like a terrier with them.

Last time they emailed it at least was a well thought out reply; but still no refund. They then put in the classic 'your feedback is important to us'.

So they got a several pages long snotmail reply telling them exactly what they needed to do to improve their service. Everything from 'put a business plan together to get more staff' since they were taking 28 days to reply to emails to re-word their auto reply on their email address that basically told people that once they'd emailed once, don't bother doing it again because it added to their workload.

But even with all that, I couldn't fault the holiday itself.

    TalkTalk!
Having a problem with my bank sending money all over the place when it shouldnt be at the moment so had to withdraw all the money out of the account and can now only deal in cah until they pull their fingers out.
This means talk talks direct debit bounced but as i had already explained the problem to them and was waiting on instructions on how to pay cash 9as tey dont provide the option on their bills) i figured there would be no problems. Ohhh noooo not talktalk. Got a bil through this orning including £12.45 or charges. £3.50 for non direct debit admin fee and £7.50 for direct debit rejection charges! Also discovered that they have put me on the wrong tariff and hav charged me £8.95 for calls that i shouldnt have had to pay for! Rang up only to be whinged at because i've not paid my bill (how can i without your bank details aarrgghh) so they therefore have put a restriction on the line and they cant (or won't as far as i'm concerned) change the call package until the payment is clear and in their bank (takes 5 to 7 days apparently funny cos i paid £20 in my mums bank the other day and she got it like 10 minutes later!) Oh and they all speak minimal English......well impressed i am!!!

utility warehouse - never heard of them before I moved into this MQ and will never ever use them again!
Been here since april and heard nothing from them. I thought I'd leave it 3 months, maybe then we'll get a quarterly bill. nothing. Phoned the company, they'd never heard of us and told me I couldn't live at this address cos so and so did. Told them if they wanted the bills paid they'd better update their details. And I know that the housing officer updated it because they had the correct readings from when we moved in. They've sent a final demand for payment to us, but we've never received a bill. They finally sent through the bills addressed to the previous occupants but with a covering letter in our names. Bloody nightmare. And the bill they want us to pay is 4 times the amount that I think it should be!!! Will definitely be changing once this is sorted out,

    Re: Really BAD customer service

Santander, ooof this might be angry cos im still rattled off getting of the phone to them, but basically been with them since i was a kid, had savings accounts ect with parents being split up and just kept with them cos i was happy with it, so now that i'm older and obviously have a contract phone and gym membership to pay for, i change the date for my direct debits everymonth (F*kin tedious if you ask me) so that when i get payed the money will go to those, as i get payed weekly i never seems to fall on the dates so ended up cancelling my direct debits and just paying manually over the phone for my contract and for the gym, so 3 months ago, they where still taking the direct debit and the phone contract out of my bank aswell as me paying it, even though i had cancelled it taking me overdran every week!! Arseholes. So now after being totally fucking pissed off with the fact they are just money grabbing bastards, and the fact i went into the branch every week to ask why and couldnt get a straight answer oh and apart from the que being a mile fuckin long! didnt managed to get seen to, when i did eventually get seen to i said i wish to close my account and then payed the £2 that i was overdrawn at that moment. I get a letter today sayin "your account is now £172.67 overdrawn due to charges being made on your account please contact us as soon as possible" so i ring santander and get fuckin achmed my shed from mombasa and he says oh i dont know what you mean you never closed your account and all that bollicks so i said wel im sorry i want to speak to your supervisor (secretly hoping i would just get someone fucking english who would even understand what i was sayin) but no gets mohamad, he then said oh it has nothing to do with us so you will have to deal with it your self we cannot do anything. i was actually calm on the phone as i know call center workers in mombassa have no idea what we are actually talking about, then he starts shouting at me when i ask well what am i suposed to do, i cannot get into a branch to discuss this matter further as i work and the only option i have is to ring! oh well looks like il be going to fucking court for there bastard mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH IM SORRY DIDN'T I JUST RING SANTANDER CUSTOMER SERVICES?

    aannnnnnnnnnnnnnnd breathe!

    Re: Really BAD customer service

Hm funny that my bank has just been taken over by santander and they've been screwing with my direct debits and card payments and things like that. Luckily the fact that i spotted the trend and the fact that every time i ring up or go into the branch to complain they always manage to twist it so it was my fault i told OH to draw out a substansial amount of cash this month. Good job really as they are trying to claim we are £114 overdrawn after well over a £1000 being paid in a few days ago. Well a new bank will be getting a visit tomorrow and santander and their dodgy dealings can go screw themselves

Definatley ST, I'm now with Lloyds TSB they are excellent! Even though they were awful there, they reversed £25 pound of charges after me ringing 5 times demanding an answer and one of them even hung up on me! so least I only owe £100 well still not what it should be but everylittle helps!

Abbey where good, before Santander came along.

Strange, been with them for years and have had no problems, but I guess no business seems to get it right for everyone!

    Re: Really BAD customer service

thoroughly agree about Santander!!!!! I hadn't had a statement for a few months and turned out they had changed my address on their system so stuff was presumably going to a house down the road. I tried to correct their mistake by phone but after three calls asking why they hadn't corrrected their mistake was told I had to go into the branch. They had the cheek to say I was trying to change my address - at which point I did lose my rag and shouted I had lived here 15 years and WAS NOT CHANGING MY ADDRESS. the woman in the branch grudgingly corrected the address on her computer and had the cheek to say (as if she had done something difficult) "I've managed to change your address" - unbelieveble.I am thinking of going to HSBC - does anyone have any experience of them? They seem good when I went to pay in cash for holsforheroes - are they as good as they look?

    Re: Really BAD customer service

On the subject of Banks. Barclays bank.

When me and the Ex split and the sale of our house completed we both got a cheque (a considerable amount) and I went to pay it into the bank, I was told it would take 5 days to clear and wasn't asked any questions.

A week or so later I went to pay something online and my card was refused and couldn't understand why.

Turns out the bank were investigating me for money laundering and had not only ceased the cheque but money that was in my account when I paid the cheque in, I had no money what so ever!. I called the bank and they said the money would clear when they investigated where it had come from, I told them I had a solicitors letter and the cheque was a Barclays cheque etc...it didn't matter.

Finally the money cleared and I was getting phone calls left, right and centre from the bank asking me if I wanted to open savings accounts and all that malarky, I told them to feck off.

Then proceeded to buy furniture etc for my house- I had been living like a tramp previously as I left everything with the Ex. I spent nearly £8,000 on certain sites and then went to get a Pizza online one day and my card was refused...rang the bank and they said my account had been frozen due to 'unusual activity'...a good precautionary measure all in my favour if they hadn't authorised £8,000 beforehand and refused £19.99 for Pizza Hut!!!

So they put my account back in action after being satisfied the transactions were all mine.

Two month later, I get a letter charging me £176.00 for returned Direct Debits that couldn't be paid when they were investigating me for money laundering and had froze my account. I went in and played Holy Hell, they refunded the charges. This was all last year.

Just TODAY I go online to check my account and see £176.00 has been taken from my account...why?...the charges from LAST YEAR that were refunded have been taken!!! WTF?.

They will be refunded AGAIN- but in the meantime it will leave me short until they get their arrses into gear.

    Grrrr

    Re: Really BAD customer service

Next Online - wanted to buy shoes for the boy so signed up to the online site planning to get them delivered to my folks in the UK. Try paying by card...keeps getting refused...phone them up...they say that the card used has to be registered at the delivery address....TWATS.

I buy loads of stuff online (mothercare, amazon, ElC, etc) and have never discovered another site where billing and delivery addresses HAVE to be the same, yes there are some that won't deliver outside the UK but they always allow an alternate delivery adress to the billing address.

They refused to give me the bank details so I could do a transfer but I said I could set up a direct debit which would be effective immediately so I wouldn't incur charges....they charged me and when I called they said that it was because it take 4 weeks to get the direct debit confirmed...WTF!??!

Finally they agreed to refund the interest charged but still maintained that the billing/delivery address thing was "because it's internet shopping and is, therefore, safer that way" I asked them why the hell were they the only ones who did that then!

Oh yes...Barclays....generally not an issue but whenever I have a problem that involves having to prove ID or something compicated they say "you'll need to go into your local branch" and I tell them that they must be having laugh as there isn't a Barclays in Holland! That tends to stump them!

    Re: Really BAD customer service

I can only say that Santander (covers Abbey, anyone that was with Alliance and Leicester...and various others , now) are to be avoided at all costs.

I won't go into huge detail but it took them over a year to "confirm" that the account that was my late father's existed - they were denying it and put all sorts of blocks in front of the solicitor dealing with it (even though we had the latest statements, cards...etc.etc.) and denied that he had an ISA there.

It took over 18 months for them to release anything - and they were nothing but rude , obtrusive and "no, that money doesn't exist" for too long.

    AVOID!

    Re: Really BAD customer service

I just spoke to my antie and my granda and they said that Santander have had loads of bad press to do with customer services latley! I'm gutted I didn't know!

I just hate the fact the letter says "to contact us about payment please, go into a local branch, call this number, or write to us" Then when you ring because the modern world doesn't have time to go into a bank therefore phone calls are far easier and time effective, they say please go into your local branch. The letter may aswell send you an apointment to go in to the bank in the first place as when you go into ask for a apointment you get told you can't have one for 2 weeks and there is no one available to see you at this moment in time. However when you look around there are people hid behind the counter and people sat at desks not doing a thing, they'd far rather you get fined and all that crap rather than being the helpful and helping you pay your debt of. GRRR

Potential - HSBC are a really good international bank, OH uses all time, only had one hiccup and that was because he's an idiot.

It was only while I changing my name and address with them after we got married/moved house that was the problem...although I think I'm going to have to sign up for an electronic card reader with them as I can never remember my 6billion digit personal identity code for internet banking (but that is my brain's fault)
