Just had a message from a colleague asking if I will be applying for her bosses job, as she really wants me as a boss, I've told her I'm not even sure about coming back to work in my old job but I must admit it made me smile. I just wish I knew if we would be staying here beyond the summer.

Not a scaphoid fracture! No words for how happy this makes me. Two other bones are broken, but they are big ones with good blood flow and are well on their way to be healing. A splint for two more weeks and then I am free to get on with life. So happy

I have to say, having a professional harp player with a dog as a roommate is a pretty sweet deal. I've got a cuddly dog on my lap keeping me cozy and warm, and getting a lovely concert of her practicing as a soundtrack to my work

160 page report done, power point presentation for the oral component finished. Perhaps I shall go back to being a human rather than a potato brained, neurotic, drunk, grumpy, cow now

Also, the sheer adorableness of the text from the bloke I've seen a few times, who upon getting a grumbly text about the report went away to research "how to support a stressed out PHD student as they write"...came back with the conclusion that he should never ask how the writing is going, always assume its been emotional, but productive, and if the suggestion of 'productive' causes snarling throw wine and retreat. I think he may have got this malarky figured out. Might need to keep him around a while and see if this intuition extends to other elements of life.

That is just adorable, definitely hang on to him at least for the foreseeable anyway!

    Himself is snoring.
This is a happy as he only snores sleeping on his back.
This means he is not fidgety and stealing the duvet.
In turn this means his current injury (shin splints, a torn glute or tendinitis - can't remember which has been this weeks issue) isn't giving him gyp. So he won't spend all day tomorrow complaining and stinking of anti inflammatory gel.

A late night call from the bloke I've been seeing to say goodnight and good luck on my exam tomorrow. Made me all smiley in between the nerves. Despite my best efforts at remaining icey hearted I may end up catching feelings for a short, ginger, bearded, Yorkshireman. Disaster! and yet, still in the happy column

Passed exam, no corrections, no amendments. I am now officially a PHD candidate rather than a PHD student. Also can now add Mphil to the end of my name :P Plus 7 more responses to the survey, submission of my Phase 2 ethics docs, and an agreement to take my survey national! Things in the world of PHD are definitely looking bright today

Project done. The rabbits all appear to be happy. Now just have to check the books - and that 's not happening 'til Monday next as I'm rota-ed for Saturday Cava Emergency Duty. I happen to be a Qualified Rose First Responder: it is a very technical and responsible post.

Nearly end of tax year which means tax return. I'll be glad to get mine out the way and crack on with business.
