    New Life

Well.. I have finally done it. after 32 odd years in this body and having been every dress size between a 12 and 24 (at the moment can squeeze into an 18) I have signed up for a personal trainer and food delivery scheme over here. From Thursday all meals and snacks are delivered and from MOnday a woman is coming to shout at me twice per week to start with.
Wish me luck people - with the OH getting fitter on his Seniors, then this woman needs to get her curves back in all the right places!!!

    Sounds brilliant. Go for it.

I need a push in the right direction and I think him living away doesn't always help that. I usually need a good kick up the arrse to do something and being on my own with two kids gives me too much of an excuse to say I can't, so I think what you're doing is ace.

Let us know how you get on and pass on any motivational tips!!!

    Nice one

I have to say, I go to a personal trainer twice a week with a friend (share costs) we work hard because we don't want to be the one that's failing... although if she can't go, I do get beasted even more... so twice a week with just her and you and it will really help.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I did a couch to 5k running plan (I thought I'd die at the start, running for 30 secs/walking 90!) but the feeling you get when you make that first 20 min run.. well you may as well have the rocky theme blaring in the background!

Ooooh, well done you!! Making that first step and then putting it out there is definitely the hardest bit.

If you're looking for a health kick pal, i'd gladly oblidge....30 sleeps till 'he' returns so I'm off booze, sweets, chocolate, anything with calories in it etc etc for the next month. Going to aim for 2lbs this week.

    Good luck

Sounds good RM, I had a trainer (and the guys considered her very much a fitty) but when my hours changed it became very difficult to fit it in but she runs bootcamps and I start her new one on the 14th for 4 weeks so will have to see how that goes, I WILL get under 11st if it kills me, well thats maybe a bit dramatic but I've had enough of this size.

Hope it all goes well for you

    Best of luck!

I put on 2 1/2 stone at university (I discovered chips, cheese and mayo - the best and worst invention ever). It was so bloody depressing graduating, getting home and then finding the motivation to exercise and eat better. But - once you get going and lose the first couple, you'll be hooked! You'll do great ; )

I second the best & worst day discovering cheesy chips. Or a chip cheese Naan in my student days :S
I keep coming across bikini boot camp things & personal trainers on groupon, not sure how good they would be cos there pretty cheap. But I might see how you get on before biting the bullet :P I'm about the same size, but am a complete disaster when it comes to exercising.

Good luck, and to everyone else who is working hard to lose some lbs! x

Exercise I can do, but staying off the cheesy chips (etc etc etc) is the problem for me! Good luck RM_WAG, getting into the routine is the hard bit but once you're past that first few workouts you'll start enjoying it. Getting the food delivered will take all the thinking out of it for you, so hopefully it'll make it that much more enjoyable especially with the choice of foods delivered. (The adverts make them look lush too!)

And yes, everytime OH goes away it becomes my mission to look better than the state he left me in!

Oh my word - I have eaten so much on this plan today but feel hungry (whereas usually I don't eat hardly anything!)
Breakfast 1 was a fruit smoothy with some bran things
breakfast two was slices of chicken, peppers, gherkins (so polish) olive ciabbata
lunch was brie, ham, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, celery
snack was some jelly thing with pears
dinner will be chicken with mozarrella, brown rice, peas and carrots
i am stuffed (though i am thinkin that the chicken would be good with a glass of cold white!) must resist!!
    excercise lady comes tomorrow!!!!

The brown rice will be good, slow to digest.. I guess it's teaching you to eat the good things, protein, lots of veg and a balance of carbs, have to admit, never actually seen the "we'll prepare the meals" thing... may go have a look...

    Good luck RM Wag.
I'd love a personal trainer who comes to my house, as I can't do anything whilst hubby is away. I'd got used to going out for a run and taking the dog with me so it forced me to go out, but can't when the kids are sleeping. Then I'm too knackered from running around after a 4 year old, 2 year old as well as working full time, keeping on top of the washing and ironing and keeping the house clean! I should be a size 6 by now, but I eat all the wrong things, that are quick and easy to prepare or just pick up!

Gosh there's a lot of veg in there, I guess you won't be getting any colds this winter! If you get really hungry try a vat of coffee or water, that'll normally buy you another hour or so...

    Keep up the good work!

Well I dropped a dress size and have more defined curves in places now! (and it's made a huge huge difference in the bedroom department - I am so much more flexible it seems!)
However have had to stop for the time being as 1000 calories a day (and not really eating all of that as some of it was soooo Polish (i mean pickles for breakfast!?) ) and the cold weather meant I was getting tired and ill and the cold was not helping! It's given me a boost though - so going to take it easy over christmas and come back at it in the New Year!!
