    droopy skin???

    Howdy folks.

I've had a life long struggle with my weight and I have FINALLY kicked the ass of some of my fat- I'm two stone down. (Insert celebration here)

I still have a stone to go for my goal weight but I am noticing something really icky- I have this flap of deflated tummy skin that just... sort of... hangs there. And I hate it. I have wibbly upper arms still and wibbly thighs, and like all busty women my tits hit my knees when I take the bra off. I can live with all of that. But what can I do to stop the tummy flap? it's so GROSS!

At the moment I'm wearing the sucky in pants that reach the ribcage every day, trying to retrain skin like after a lipo treatment. Is there anything else I can do?

If it's stretched skin the only thing that will shift it is a surgeon sorry! But major gratz on shifting the weight, I hope you're really proud

I know exactly how you feel Mrs America - I've shed four and a half stone and have really droopy underarms and loose skin - it all depends on the elasticity of your skin and unfortunately it sounds like your the same - it won't shrink back. Also I must add the weight was shifted by going to the gym freqently and no amount of weight or toning can honestly be said have helped at all for me (one years worth and counting!!).

I'm thinking of seeing a surgeon if it gets any worse as I've another 2-3 to go to reach goal weight and to be honest, am starting to believe alot of the weight is in the loose skin as it does feel really heavy! not sure whether the docs will see you though unless you've had bariatric surgery x

My mom's a nurse and she reckons as I'm manifesting symptoms in regards to the loose skin I should be able to get a breast lift, if not a tummy tuck. I'll give it 6 months after reaching my goal weight, and we'll see...

Do women with kiddies have this problem post pregnancy?

Well done on the lose!!! I'm afraid big bird is correct, tummy tucks are the way forward!!

Only joking, i dont think there is anything, i lost weigh slow and steady as they say, (hence my post about the last stone) but i still have an unhappy face where my knickers lie i describe it as a forever friend face lol!!

I just sayin embrace is and be proud of the weight you'v lost, your sag tells a story !! bit like women who have had children, they should also be proud of there tummys!! xx
dont care about what other people think, there will always be people who will want to see you fail because they can't succeed

Oh yes, I have 2 children and a horrible saggy tummy covered in stretch marks. Horrific. I hate it. I've told my husband when we can afford it I want a tummy tuck - its the only way I can get rid of it

That largely relies on genetics, as well how much weight you put on during pregnancy and your muscle tone beforehand. It's a different scenario to a long term weight loss.

High 5 on the weight loss

Yep, I have the odd saggy bit after having my two- but I have found its getting worse as I get older, it looks way worse if I breathe in to see what I'd look like with a flatter tummy.

I hate it with a passion but my OH surprisingly doesn't give a flying flip flop about it and actually gets annoyed if I happen to mention it and says my attitude turns him off not the tummy.

Like the others have said, no amount of exercise will get rid of it and the thought of having surgery just isn't for me, being the optimist I am :P I always think 'what if something went wrong?' and my kids lose me for the sake of a flat tummy.

So I am trying to learn to embrace my bits I don't like and look after myself as much as I can.

Wow, amazing weight loss well done you!

I gained no weight with any of my pregnancies but boy have I gained a few stone since they have been at boarding school, mines alkyhol consumption and age I'spose.

I know loads of gels who've had tummy tucks some with amazing results but two of the gels had awful complications, infections etc.
